iPad 2 Mount

Anyone use a mount like this one?

I was thinking that, maybe, hanging down it might work and not obstruct the instruments too much.

May not block your instruments but what about your runway view?. Sometimes bigger is not better. I found the iPhone to be a more practical tool than an iPad. I can carry my iPhone on my pants pocket, talk on the phone and browse the web anywhere. Try that with an iPad.
