I have about 10 hours or so in a travelair.  It’s ok, but very very difficult to hand fly in imc.  Feels like bonanza.  I also have a few hours in twin Comanche.  Between the two, I’d pick the twin Comanche for sure.

Having owned and flown both now (had an E33A Bonanza before this), I'd agree that they are very similar in feel and overall behavior.  :) 

I don't have any issues hand flying in IMC though.  I can set the trim and she'll stay where she's pointed.   The A/P does a huge bulk of the enroute stuff so I can focus on the big picture flying.  Hand flying stabilized approaches are pretty easy too once I figured out the tendencies of this particular airframe.  Overall, I like the feel and handling of the TA.
