ArtVandelay Posted October 26, 2018 Report Posted October 26, 2018 Not yet. Be sure to check power and ground first before anything else. Let's not replace things, just to be safe or to rule out. If power and ground are present, then , as Mark said, it could be a seating issue. The problem is it may check out ok if just checking voltage, but it may not pass current. I had this problem with a Garmin 255 radio, avionics guy said it checked out ok, it wasn’t. It’s a $20 part, if it turns out its not the problem, keep the old one as a spare. Quote
Mscheuer Posted October 26, 2018 Report Posted October 26, 2018 NJMac, I would hope to be more aware then to ever say our products just don’t fail, they do, but it is rare. i am as concerned as you are with this unit. While I’m at the Gulf Shores AOPA fly-in, on Monday I’m going to get the design engineer to do a deep dive into this unit. there are registers that are used to store errors, we are going to pull those and I’ll report. please know that I totally believe that the unit failed to operate, it is my objective to determined what did happen. Have a great weekend Mark 3 Quote

I totally understand and while understand the practice, with a Comm Radio it is different because of the amperage it pulls, however, with the PMA Audio panels, they are pretty much the best out there and do not pull much current in normal configuration. I am not saying at all you are wrong, I just would not do that as a normal practice unless it happens again. It is good thinking though. Quote

Mscheuer Posted October 27, 2018 Report Posted October 27, 2018 (edited) Too late, I am already having fun. But that doesn’t mean your harness might not be already on it’s way. We finish the harness within 5 working days but most of the time it’s quicker. Thanks for your order McMooney! Edited October 27, 2018 by Mscheuer Quote
