Ei ubg 16

I bought a used ubg 16 and I need to purchase cht probes. What I’ve found is that they need to be k type, 3/8” 24. Does anyone have a suggestion to what kind. I’m trying to avoid spending $350 on cht probes, does a universal work? I saw there might be a need to piggy back the #3 to keep it legal as well. I’ve been searching for probes for a while but have come up with limited options.

Any ungrounded K type thermocouple will work. 

The ones from EI are reasonably priced.

I'd make sure the unit has the option to download data from a USB port before installing. If not, you can get it upgraded. Otherwise it has very little diagnostic value these days.
