fire trucks, people lining the runway with craned next and videos out for the latest youtube vid.

well that was my last landing, not 15 minutes ago.

we took off from le touquet and at around 400ft tried to retract the gear. the circuit braker pops and we are stuck with gear down.  so we fly around for an hour or so trying to get the gear up when we notice that the manual gear lock has come open.  once replaced the circuit breaker stays in and it sounds like the gear is operating ok, but to try and get confirmation we do a low pass at the airfield and it looks ok.  a circuit,  very slow approach, gently onto one back wheel, then the other one, then holding the nose up as long as possible whilst the engine idles to a stop.   nice feeling when the front stayed up and definately my nicest landing to date....

so having gone through all that my question is..... should the circuit breaker pop once the manual release is out?

thanks,

al.

Yes, check your POH.

A check of the release latch on the manual gear extension is in my preflight checklist.
