I helped him and his friends apply the coating. It was a lot of effort to prep and to get down correctly and leveled in the short working time. I see why they recommend having professionals do it. Looks great though. I would like to do my hangar but 2,500 sq ft of that stuff is expensive! Lee The floor of my shop is done that way. About 6000 square feet. Thankfully, the previous tenant sprung for it, then went out of business 3 months later. Saved me a cool 5 digit bill. And it looks amazing... Well, it did. Still looks pretty good, but 3 years of shop work has taken it's toll. 1 Quote

I'm thinking about keeping my planes tied down outside to keep the floor all nice...and, definitely, no grease, no oil, and NO SHOES....SOCKS ONLY! 2 1 Quote
ragedracer1977 Posted November 26, 2017 Report Posted November 26, 2017 We have 3 or 4 vehicles in every day. Floor jacks dragged around, pallets dragged, etc. I probably abuse my floor more in a week than you will in 10 years 1 Quote
Guest Posted November 26, 2017 Report Posted November 26, 2017 Some brands of aircraft tires tend to stain painted floors and wet tires left to dry bond to the paint more than the paint to the floor leaving bare spots when moved. In my hangar we glued 3 floor tiles to indicate the correct parking spots for each of the planes. Clarence Quote

I discussed the "sticky tire" issue with my floor guy. He assured me that it would not be a problem....we'll see. Quote

I use them in my hangar and am surprised how the rubber has stained the carpet. My case is different than yours as my rented hangar has unfinished concrete. I was able to pick up some 18"x18" squares at a discount store. Quote
MyNameIsNobody Posted November 26, 2017 Report Posted November 26, 2017 I think it is a painted floor. A nice shiny floor, but still a floor. Have fun ogling everybody. Funny. Quote
bonal Posted November 26, 2017 Report Posted November 26, 2017 Very nice and a huge difference from our current hangar, in fact now that the rain has arrived I find I need to place a couple tarps over the wings as that is where the roof leaks. Still thankful to have shelter from the elements as there are very few options here at home. Quote
