Just picked up my new to me Eagle (yea!) This is my 3rd Mooney (1977-  201, 1981- 231) and now 1999 Eagle. This is a great site, I have learned a lot from the collective knowledge here. Looking forward to many great adventures with my wife in the new bird.

Looks like a great bird.  I have Eagle No. 26.  It looks like yours in in beautiful condition.  After you get past the pain of parting with the acquisition money start thinking about the Screaming Eagle upgrade.  I did it and it makes a hot summer climb a lot better.

Thanks for the welcome. She is serial # 2.  Not that I can afford it now, but how much is the Screaming Eagle Conversion? Wink

There is a big difference in the flight of the long body Mooney. I only have flown 3 hours so far (compared to over 200 hours in the medium body), but it seems more stable, and feels much heavier in the air.

Don't let Bruce fool you.  With over 200 hours flying short bodies, with only 3 hours in the Eagle, Bruce is doing a great job flying it.  As a matter of fact, he let his friend, a long time jet charter pilot fly the airplane last week and Bruce is at least twice as smooth on the controls.  Plus Bruce likes to hand fly the airplane and does not need to rely on the auto pilot.  My belief is that Mooney pilots make the best pilots.

20K for new prop and governor. Hmmmmmm  Obviously you feel it was worth it. What model prop do they use?

Holding the nose off is challenging,  DO NOT over flair. Hold you attitude. She likes to land pretty flat, and you got to let the speed bleed off before touching down.
