Many people have gone with EI individual gauges for things like that. Most people are looking to JPI and EI for multiple gauge replacement all at once...

The JPI 900 series replaces a whole lot of primary gauges.  930 does it with additional style.

EI has better customer service.  Their MVP is very nice.

The devices are a handful of AMU. Installation requires lots of wires and hours....

If you want to save a few bucks, consider having the gauge OH'd...

The stock gauge is kind of funky. Fuel in the cockpit and what not. Susceptible to oscillations by fuel pump pulses that scare the crap out of me over the mountains.

Are you thinking about modernizing with the Primary gauge capable units? There are three manufacturers...

The costs range from some to a lot.

I want something with the same basic functions but I want the fuel line out of the cockpit.

Cheapest and easiest way is to stick in an EI FP-5L with the pressure transducer. Taps into the fuel lines under the cowl. Will give you fuel pressure, fuel flow, time to empty and other features. It is certified as a primary replacement. Mine has been in the plane for over 20 years.

But yet the direct gauges (fuel pressure, oil presssure) also happen to be hands down the most reliable gauges in the plane. I've had to swap JPI sensors but never had a problem with the simple cockpit pressure gauges from Mooney. I'd overhaul it.

Are you EI gauges 2 1/4" ?

Mine are. My original right side of the panel had the big tach and combination fuel pressure/MP gauges. I had the far right side rebuilt to add more breaker spots and to make the 2 1/4" holes to accept the EI gauges.
