Repainting with traditional scheme

People do the same thing, find a good plastic surgeon and have some work done in an attempt to fool people into thinking they are 40 years younger... 

I'm personally a fan of the classic look. Maybe change the colors a little if you want, but the overall scheme I think looks great on the older planes. (classic = classy)

My suggestion is that you have the registration applied in vinyl.  If/ when you sell your plane, changing the marks is easy.  Painted on marks are a pain.

There are some people really good with paint that do an excellent re-fresh and blend in areas that are wearing thin and you don't have to go through the whole repaint process, especially since you're satisfied with your paint scheme.

I didn't think that was Mitch's plane. I thought he had a newer model.

I recall there was a guy here who wrapped his entire plane instead of painting it.

That's very kind of you.  I'm pretty excited about my new old little Mini-Mooney!  It suits me just fine. I've always admired that 1963 paint scheme, thinking it was quite progressive for that era.  And, since I'm a red color freak, we jazzed that up with some metallic and candy mixes.  Happy Mooney flying everyone!!!

I'm all for a paint scheme of personal choice.  It is your airplane and it is what makes you happy.  As one previous post stated, maybe it is meant to fool folks into thinking your plane is a new model...............hmmm!

With that said, with my former Ovation, I chose a newer paint scheme for it because I just loved that 08 Ovation scheme!  The original scheme on the plane did not appeal to my liking.  I was thrilled with the final version and it pleased me tons each time I looked at it...............and that's really the purpose, to make sure you'll be happy and have no regrets.
