michæl Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Hello, I'm new to the forum. I owned a Mooney years ago and I'm considering buying another one. I'm considering a few from the 1990's era. Might anyone know what years the copilot brakes were deleted and when they reappeared? Thanks for your help.
carusoam Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Astro, I think you might find that copilot brakes were an option. Often found on MSE versions (M20R MSE at least). Search the forum on co-pilot brakes and you will find many pieces of input. example: http://www.mooneyspace.com/index.cfm?mainaction=posts&forumid=2&threadid=629 Welcome to the forum, -a-
RJBrown Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 My current plane is a 1990 MSE and it has them. My previous plane a 1980 231/Rocket 305 did not. It is not something I would pay extra for. There is not much training that goes on in Mooneys and all they do is add maintenance expense.

richardheitzman Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Co Pilot brakes are option, but there is a aftermarket kit to add them.
Jeff_S Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 As I recalll, MSE = Mooney Special Edition
