I am leaning towards the Lynx solution with the active traffic... Am I understanding correctly that the ADS-B wx and traffic will transmit via Bluetooth from the Lynx box to some flight apps running on a tablet? If so, that is an ideal solution especially if you get aural traffic alerts too... My issue is that I don't have a WAAS GPS (KLN 94) so the alternative is to spend even more money and upgrade that box (-770?) and add the KT-74 xpdr.... and not get the Lynx. I've had my Lynx for six months or so and I love it. It did display on ForeFlight and then FF changed their stuff to make it where it would not work. Rumor has it that it will soon work on FF again. The display with "only" traffic is nice. I have an active traffic antenna (in stock) and hope to get that working too. Guest
I just got my plane back from Kitchener Aero today and got to do a few flights this afternoon and this evening. I bought the 9000+ with Diversity, with it displaying on both the 430W and the Aspen, so far I like it. While we don't have ADSB in Canada, but in southern Ontario I can pick up from the U.S. At fairly low altitude. Clarence

milotron
Hi Clarence, nice panel. I am in Victoria BC and considering the exact same upgrade but have been wondering how much value ADS-B would have cross border. It would be nice to know how much coverage we would expect in Canada. NavCan suggest that only ADS-B coverage will be in the north from the last I read. Is this going to be mandated in Canada in 2020 also? I bought the Lynx for a number of reasons, active traffic first, new transponder second, and ADSB third(Canada is supposed to be going to satellite based ADSB) I bought it during the sale L3 had this spring, our local avionics shop, Kitchener Aero treats me well allowing me to do a bunch of the installation myself leaving them to finalize things. Clarence Are there any existing ADSB solutions which are compatible with both terrestrial and satellite ADSB? It seems that the terrestrial ADSB solutions we are being forced to install in our airplanes by 2020 will be quickly outdated (if they are not already). The 1090ES equipment we are now installing will work fine in both terrestrial and satellite ADSB environments
