I may be wasting time writing this but i have just spent time and effort investigating this so I'll just share what I learned. It's of no use to buy a prop that has been struck because most shops I talked with won't build one that has a hub that has been subjected to the shock loads of beating the ground or bending the blades. I found one prop that was damaged while the engine wasn't running and two blades were damaged. I called to get a price on blades, I was quoted 3400$ each blade. Two blades would be 6800$ that plus labor and you are getting to the point that you might as well buy a new prop and get a new spinner and the bulkheads. I was quoted 11,700$ for brand new including spinner, I found a damaged prop that needed two blades and an overhaul for 3500$ + 3400$ X 2 + 2500 labor for OH and I still had no spinner. Grand total 12,700 with no spinner for a used prop with fresh OH. In my mind a prop is as vital a part of an airplane as a wing spar. If a part of the prop fails when under operating rpm the  rotating group of engine and prop wil instantaneously become so unbalanced that the engine is very likely to part ways with the airframe before your hand can pull the power off. A loss of 450+ lbs off the nose of a Mooney will  make the plane so far out of CG it will no longer be controllable. In the end, I decided to go with an overhaul on my two blade McCauley. Maybe oneday.
