Fascist neighbors!!

Let the wife have the house, keep the plane!!!

Good call! You can sleep in a plane, but you cannot fly a house.

Im sorry but I dont see the point in trucking an unairworthy airplane to the driveway of an unairworthy pilot to 'save money.' Surely this little stunt costs more than selling it or just leaving it at the airport. I think he wanted to put it there as a daily reminder to his wife that there is at least something he really loves.

I would grab a 12 pack and just sit in it and drink them all! Of course I would wear my aviator glasses, captains hat and shirt. Damn neighbors!

would you also make plane sounds with your mouth?

In Brazil and in many parts in South America it is not uncommon to find planes on the ranches without any runway. Pilots just land on the roadway leading to the ranch and park the plane on the pasture or in a barn with wide doors. The limited road system beyond the main cities has forced many to this option. In Africa and Australia is also common.

José

I guess not so much on Long Island!

The point is that it does not matter whether you or anybody else can see the point.  It's his property.  We all have to deal with neighbors that do things we don't like or understand, it's part of living amongst other humans. If there is a covenant or ordinance in place, than he should abide by it. If not, it should be treated like any other RV.

It is a vehicle used for recreation. Why does it matter if it is within the confines of his property?  My neighbor has a Winnebago in his driveway behind my house. It has not moved for years.  It is covered in tree filth, lichen and all other matter of funk. I have a brick and glass greenhouse that obscures it from view for the most part, but I still hate that winnebago. However, I would rather live a life disliking that Winnebago than one where I could use the state to force him to remove it.  He's a nice enough guy and I can get over it. It's his castle.

In my village, there is a fellow who is angry with the village of Potsdam.  He was offered money to have a dunkin donuts at his site, but was not allowed because he was not zoned commercial.  So for the last 10 years he has been waging eye-sore wars with all the good citizens he hates now.

Hank Robar is a bitter man - but hey - he is exercising his rights.  I would sooner a nice Cessna ... but the toilet garden is kinda funny.  Local small town "characters".

Some people just don't get the concept of private property.  It's not the villages property!  I'm stopping before this turns into little Timmy

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he was being sarcastic and referring to a Van's RV.

I'm wondering what my new neighbors-to-be are going to think after I get moved in and unpacked . . .

I got the tongue in cheek reference to an RV!

However, I am interested in the legal distinction between a Van's and a Winnebago.

I found a couple of pennies in my pocket so I thought I'd toss them in before things get crazy again here at work.  The few stories I have seen on the news lean more towards the poor neighbors and what are their rights.  the news media has a real love hate attitude towards GA and aviation as a whole.  They love to show stories of taking flight in an F18 at an airshow or in a pretty Edge 300 or the majestic flight of a sail plane but the second they get to tell a story of something controversial or an accident with an airplane as the main character its "oh those pesky little airplanes and don't we feel bad for the families and friends and we really need to look into the general safety Blah Blah Blah...not surprising the non flying public shares this same view.
