timpercarpio Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 Does anyone know anything good or bad about this airplane? http://www.trade-a-plane.com/listing?id=1762079 It had damage about 20 years ago. If properly repaired, how much would that affect future value? Thanks, Tim
Hank Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 Damage history from 20 years back, repaired properly, airworthy and flying the whole time since, in my opinion has no effect on value. I know nothing about this plane.
DonMuncy Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 Damage history always has some negative value, although it may not be much. If you had two planes exactly alike, except one had damage history, which one you prefer.
kortopates Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 After 20yrs properly repaired damage wouldn't mean a thing IMO, there would always be other important differences in engine, avionics etc. most often, "properly repaired" means newer parts than the plane that didn't have repairs. paynerc Posted October 8, 2014 Report Posted October 8, 2014 I was also looking at this plane on controller.com. This is what I found regarding the damage incident: http://www.ntsb.gov/AviationQuery/brief.aspx?ev_id=20001206X02180&key=1.
