M10 Aviator Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 I am the new owner of a Mooney M10 Cadet. This plane is great for building time and making 300 mile and under cross country trips, also, very inexpensive to operate. I have a problem though, I have a wife and three year old and only two seats. I have seen C150s with small bench seats in the back and also tie downs for a child seat. Is there an STC for a third seat in a Mooney M10. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Brandon
Mooneymite Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Brandon, I know of no third seat for the M-10, or for any of the Ercoupe series. Perhaps the Aercoup/Air coup/M-10 community has a web site? Have you considered a nice M-20?
M10 Aviator Posted September 7, 2014 Author Report Posted September 7, 2014 At this time I am working on my IFR and commercial certs. This plane is in my price range and operational range. A complex airplane would be a little expensive. But I will check out the Ercoupe websites. Thanks Brandon
mooniac15u Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 The type certificate for the Ercoupe/M10 allows for an optional "kiddy seat" or "family seat" holding up to 90lbs. http://edburkhead.com/ercoupe/A-787_Rev_33_2005.pdf
mooniac15u Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Univair (http://www.univair.com) owns the type certificate and sells parts. They could probably tell you whether you can add that to your plane.
M10 Aviator Posted September 7, 2014 Author Report Posted September 7, 2014 Thx for the info I will check it out Brandon
