helitim Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 The following message occurred twice this week on a trip thru SoCal while IFR over the San Gabriel Mtns. Any ideas why? Edit: A GDL 88 is also installed so, I don't think this should be an issue of activating the stations. Quote
larryb Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 I have also seen that message, and also over Southern CA. I was around Victorville I think. The message stayed active a few minutes and went away. I have a GTN650 + GDL88. Quote

donkaye Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 The following message occurred twice this week on a trip thru SoCal while IFR over the San Gabriel Mtns. Any ideas why? Edit: A GDL 88 is also installed so, I don't think this should be an issue of activating the stations. Initially when I had my panel upgraded I was getting both 1090 and UAT receiver faults. Garmin replaced the GDL 88. Since that replacement I have received 1 1090 fault. I wish I knew what they meant but they apparently aren't good, since the manual says to return the unit to Garmin for service.. Quote
MB65E Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 Had it once on a GTN 650 helicopter in SoCal (west bound Ontario area). Went away, but checked the setup IAW with the STC protocalls... -Matt Quote
larryb Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Just saw this again. Guess where? Yup, Southern California coming into Fullerton. Quote
helitim Posted May 29, 2014 Author Report Posted May 29, 2014 My avionics tech contacted Garmin regarding this error message. They stated it is in fact a station problem related to that station in SoCal and not a hardware/software problem with the GDL88. Quote
larryb Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Saw it again today in SoCal on my trip KFUL to KTRK Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
