  1. Also, it is not a regulation, but guidance. For Part 121/135, it may be required if the FSDO overseeing the part 121/135 operator requires it as part of the Operators' OPS specs for approval.
  2. The Examiner is quoting a part 121/135 requirement. This not required for part 91.
  3. Flite Electronics in KADS. They are the very best!
  4. Yup the King EHSI died, cost $14,000 to replace with a serviceable unit, with a good chance that it would not last long either. So, figured it was a good time to upgrade the panel.
  5. Before and after photos
  6. It's Done!
  7. The King EHSI died, over $14,000 to fix, Ouch! So, we picked the $50,000 fix instead!
  8. Get a serviceable King KX-165 or 155.
  9. Here is another good place: http://www.aircraftdoorseals.com/products/mooney/m20-series/
  10. Yup for sure, needs an overhaul.
  11. Sounds like we need a Texas Bravo hamburger run to 11R? I am in Dallas. Congrats on you Bravo!
  12. The bulbs is in the yolk itself. Shines from below it.
  13. Vref Valuation is accurate but you need to understand that it is based on market valuations that are one to two years old. If you need something more accurate and more relevant, you need o use an craft appraiser. These individuals have much more access to recent banking data that reflects a more current value. Mooney values will show to be relatively low through Vref, especially because it still does not take into account the restart of the factory production etc.
  14. You mean Comanche. Archer is a single engine.
  15. It also depends on whether you have AC or TKS as that has some penalties. I get about 180 at 10,000 or 178 at 8000, LOP 15.6 Gal/per hour, 185, ROP about 20 Gals/hr. TKS bird.
  16. Nice! BTW, looks like the tail is hanging a little low. Perhaps time for new gear biscuits?
  17. Remember that the sight gauges are designed to be accurate when the plane is on the ground not in the sir. On the ground the plane, sits about 3-5 degrees nose high.
  18. This sounds like it's time for new Mags.
  19. Yes, NACA type vents do not need to be heated.
  20. Full-motion, level C or D sims count for both landing and IFR currency.
  21. How many hours on that pump?
  22. I have hear and seen as much as 30%, but with complete engine and prop logbooks, should not be that high. Big issues to be conserned with would be damage that did not involve engine and prop and AD/SB compliance.
  23. The limit is in fact 1/32 of an inch. I have pictures, but can't seem to figure out how to upload them here.
  24. I always file IFR. If you dont have an instrument ticket, then may I suggest that you file VFR and request Flight Following. The search and rescue stats will alarm you with the fact that FF provides very marginal help. Remember, unlike a flight plan (VFR or IFR), FF will not initiate any SAR if you "fall off radar coverage." A flight plan will automatically initiate SAR 30 mins past ETA files.
  25. I am on the hunt for an elevator or elevator top skin for my Bravo. Factory does not have any and told my A&P that their stamping machine is broken. Any Idea who might have one?
