  1. Can’t find any good info on this question. Any help is much appreciated! If say for example, a commercially rated pilot was asked to use their own airplane to pick up someone’s dog (without the person riding along) would it be legal for them to be compensated for that flight?
  2. If you were approaching from the SW you would have to fly the turn. I was approaching from the north
  3. Another odd point, I shot this approach direct “Cidas” and the 430 prompted me wether or not I wanted the procedure turn
  4. What is in bold? Sorry I’m not seeing it. And yea but with Jepp it would always ask me if I wanted to do the procedure turn.
  5. I’m not sure, I haven’t tried that, good idea.
  6. I recently switched my Garmin 430W Nav data subscription from Jepp which I’ve used for years, to Garmin as it was cheaper. I noticed a glitch that when for instance executing the GPS 35 approach at my home field “KSEG”. That when loading “KACGE” as the initial fix it doesn’t give me an option NOT to perform the procedure turn like my Jeppesen data did. I’m forced into the hold and won’t sequence to the next fix even when approaching directly from the south. The only way to fix it by either activating the next leg manually or “activate vectors to final”. This isn’t the only Airport/approach this has happened on but there are some that will prompt if I want to do the procedure turn. I’ve contacted Garmin and said they put in a ticket to look into it but basically said there are no current plans to fix it as they’re focusing on fixing this issue on the GTN’s. Just wanted to let everyone know if you’re thinking about switching to Garmin’s data as this could be a safety concern if you’re not expecting it In IMC.
  7. Hey guys hate to revive this old thread and I appreciate all the great info! But does anyone know of a good L-39 or fighter jet forum that I can reach out to some owners? Thanks!
  8. Wow thanks for all the responses and helpful info! My dad and I are based in Central Pennsylvania Wilmington might be our best shot only a 30 minute ride in the mooney!
  9. Hey everyone, it’s always been my father’s dream to take a ride in a fighter jet. Just wondered if anyone would have a reference to an outfit or an owner that would be willing to give him a ride in an L-39 or similar jet aircraft on the east coast? Was really hoping to do this for him for his birthday in November or sometime soon if possible. Also I am already aware of some companies but the price is a bit high so I would love to find someone with better knowledge Thanks in advance for any help!
  10. Hey guys attitude indicator has been sluggish on and off for a bit and seems to be getting worse. Any recommendations on where to do an overhaul exchange or better options of there is one? Thanks! Ps It's has the autopilot output to the century II B
  11. For those that can't view the video it just starts fluttering all the way off the scal and then will peg all the way on the upper side in the black. Would that be a symptom of a potential bad sending unit?
  12. Hey guys, been having this issue since shortly after getting my 1978 M20J model. Check the video out, the fuel pressure will read steady on the ground and sporadically in flight then do what is displayed in the video. Already had the Fuel pressure sending unit replaced which did nothing and just had the engine overhauled so when the engine was reinstalled I had them check the grounds for the gauges. Thanks for any help! - Garrett IMG_0839.MOV
  13. Noticed on my last couple flights that there is air seeping through the bottom of the entry door. I took and look and the seal is really mashed down and needs replaced. Any suggestions on where to get them cheap? Thanks
  14. Wow, yea must be an issue there. Air is blowing hard out of the heater vent just isn't warm. With an egt of around 1400 degrees it should be nice and warm
  15. Thanks for all the quick responses! Yes I was about 25 degrees LOP even went rich of peak to the same egt and like I suspected didn't make a difference. I'll deffinately have to get an oil cooler block installed seeing as these temperatures in central PA can be brutal at times. Noticed my heater was blowing I'd say room temp air as well during cruise, I'm assuming the oil cooler block wouldn't have any impact of that right?
