  1. That is way too much... I had my ASPEN installed in 30 hours...
  2. It is hard to find a M20C in pristine conditions and with no damage history. So I would just make sure that everything is OK and enjoy your bird.
  3. Joe, I agree... way to complicated and considering that this is my wife's camera... I better make sure that I don't mess up...otherwise no flying... BTW I use a RAM suction cup for the powershot camera insider the cockpit. Oscar
  4. Really nice video. I also use a Contour camera... Good to know that they are not reliable after they run for a certain time. On the Powershot, indeed they take great videos, however it seems that their recording time is limited to 7 min... I have not been able to figure out how to change that setting. Oscar.
  5. marks Sounds like a wonderful story. Oscar
  6. I have one installes in my m20c and it is great. Aircraftsprucw has them
  7. Just make sure that they clean up all the old cables that you have in lying around in the back of your panel. This is very labor intensive and takes time and money.
  8. Great threat. I haver four boys, two from my firs marriage and two from my second... (talk about being an optimist). My older boys, now 14 and 16, could not care less about flying. They never got interested, although I took them to the airport each an every weekend. My younger kids (Four and nearly 2) on the other hand love airplanes! But the 2 year old is scared of the noise... So at this point only the 4 year old is really into flying... He loves it, and gets upset when I go flying without him. He even says that he wants to become a pilot, like daddy... but at least the four understand that daddy is an airplane fanatic and that N9341V is their sister/brother that they have to respect and love.
  9. Thank you. Indeed that is the hole i am referein too. Oscar
  10. For the transmitting part I would check the antennas.
  11. Great idea. I am Oscar proud owner of a M20C (70) since 2002. I learned to fly in the NYC area in 1992 (CDW) and purchased my first airplane in 1996' before moving to Washington DC. I was based in KGAI. Four years ago I was transferred to La PAz, Bolivia, and I had to put my M20c in storage for that time. In march of this year I took her out of storage and flew her to Guatemala were I will be based for the next three years.
  12. Thank you I will really appreciate getting the picture. I will ask to change the spark plugs on cylinder 3...
  13. Gary, thank you for your feedback. This has not been a spike but cht 3 and EGT3 have been high since I got the engine back from overhaul. This AM I downloaded the information from my jpi and cht3 mad egt3 have been high but stable. That is why I believe that I have a "cooling problem". Oscar
  14. Thank you for all your responses. Indeed mine is a m20c with a o360a1d. I just got 35 hours on my engine. EGT on number 3 has been high but has not changed... The specific question that I still have is if the dohouses' upper right front baffle has a circular hole just above the coil of the upper spark plug of cylinder 1.
  15. I would suggest a Concord.
  16. Questions and questions... I had a nice flight today, but some little problems showed up and put me in a bad mood... First my CHT on 3 got close to 490.... Then I leveled off and it went down to 434, but I could not get it below 430. The other CHTs, were below 400 in the 380 range. I feel that my engine baffling system is not working well, may be it is not sealing well. I took off the cowling and saw on the front right baffle a circular hole. I am not sure that this is right? and if there should not be something to close that hole. So I was wondering if somebody could share with me a picture of the baffling system of the M20C, also know as the doghouse, in particular its upper part. Second Also, while I was on my final approach, I turned my electrical boost pump on. It made a very load noise (fuel pressure seemed to be OK). Last, but not least, my battery was not charging beyond 12.9 V. I guess I will need to adjust my regulator... I am currently spending some time in Guatemala, there are only two Mooneys in the country, mine and one that has been parked in front of my hangar for at least 5 years, without being used...So, please if somebody could help me and provide me some advice that would be really appreciated.
  17. In my M20C the airducts under the panel were simply worn out and air leaked through them...
  18. Before starting to work in Guatemala I lived for 4 years in La Paz, Bolivla, field elevation around 13,000 feet. Very interesting landing... Obviously I was never able to fly my Mooney down there... Just as an interesting note, the American Airlines pilots had to wear oxygen masks during their 45 minutes stopover, before flying to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where they refueled to continue to Miami.
  19. great...
  20. I would just clean the plugs and monitor the engine... BTW can you share the B2 pictures? Oscar
  21. jajaja...actually I wanted to upload "what a wonderful world" from Louis Armstrong...it actually did fit nicely with the total time of the video...but youtube basically said NO... no way. I hope next weekend to do another video. I plan on flying to the Atlantic from Guatemala City... should be nice.
  22. i had a pa28 for several years and although i like my m20c better, the pa28 are nice...i dad a lot of fun with my n55470
  23. I have one too and it really makes a difference. The one I have is manual.
