  1. Guys here I am again with a question: I own a M20C, as I mentioned before in this forum i upgraded my panel significantly. After putting everything back together again, there are some little squawks that surfacing that i would like to have a second opinion before I embark in some money spending.... The question is related to the intrument cluster in my Mooney (see picture). a. Before starting the upgrade both fuel indicators were working perfectly well. After the upgrade they stopped working. The shop that did the installation says that I need new senders, but I am just puzzled how two senders could fail at the same time... So any ideas? What could be going on? b. The Ammeter stopped working just before the upgrade. I would like to make it work agaiin, so does somebody know where I could get a new probe? c. The CHT is not working, so the engine probe may have gone bad. Does somebody know where I could get a new probe? d. My voltage regulator can not be adjusted (it charges either 13 Volts or 16), any recommendations what I should buy to replace it? I promise a new video in return to some answers... http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33554-/
  2. The honey get it done list is dangerous! I always wonder why they can not understand that sometimes you just like to "hang out" (quoting my teenage son)...
  3. I see this problem all the time at my current home base. Most of the traffic are Embraer 195, 320 and 737s. Several times I was told to do 360s for traffic. Not a big deal...
  4. Interesting.... I did not know that. I will try it out with my STEC
  5. Dear Heinz, Vielen Dank! BTW cool picture. Oscar
  6. Fair enough. I had not thought about the pressure differential and that may have been one of the reasons why I lost the camera... (in addition to the rain).
  7. Dear Heinz, enjoy sunny Florida. I will be there in February to teach a course in tampa. Regarding your questions: I do not use the remote control to stop and start the camera. I prefer not to be distracted and I just turn on the camera before I start the plane and then after I land I turn it off. The Battery lasts for about 2 to 3 hours so no problem what so ever. For ediing purposes I use final cut pro (a Mac program) it works well, but a bid of an overkill. I was told that you could also use i-movie, which is simpler and cheaper... I have not used the go pro editing software.
  8. Dear Heinz, no I just let them run and then I edit the videos.
  9. Hey Byron, Yes, thank you! That is the advantage of living abroad where the work is extremely detail oriented. Regarding the CHTs, I discovered that the cowl flaps of my mooney were closed (m20C with fixed cowl flaps), so I opened them and that helped. I also changed the climb profile to 120 mph, which helped bring down the temperature a little bit more. Finally, I plan on changing the spark plugs from REM 39 to REM 37. That should even help and keep all chts under 400. But thanks for asking.
  10. http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33608-/ This is how I had my 795 inestalled.
  11. Thank you for sharing your experience. Indeed we have to approach each landing with the respect it deserves...
  12. Hey, I don't laugh at all... all to the contrary. But to be frank I have not seen any degradation. I am cruising at 145 kts.
  13. Good point. Thank you I will include this in my passenger brief too.
  14. congratulations! Obviously you don't have toddlers....I have not slept in since...I don't even remember Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  15. thanks will do so... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  16. Let me share with you my experience. I got an iPad mini 3G and I have been using it in Guatemala. I have been able to connect at 12k feet and send emails and download weather. I have it mounted on the yoke with a ram mount and it works really well. I use the jeppessen software mainly because fore flight does not work outside the US. 17. yes you are right...also it would have been great to have the movable cow flaps. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  18. I installed one in my m20c but I have not been able to calibrate the unit. I must say I feel rather frustrated. I follow the instructions but it tells me that I have to adjust the probe but the iris no more room to do so. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  19. I believe that the cameras work well. Their movies look really cool and their battery life of more than 2 hours are enough. Now regarding the mounts I think they are reliable. It was my mistake that I lost one last week. I mounted it on the wing and the suction cup may not have worked well on a curved wing. So when I got into some rain and turbulence the suction cup gave up and the camera joined the Guatemalan jungle...11k feet below. My experience is that suction cups work well on the belly and under the wings as long as you have a flat, clean and dry surface. I saw a video on you tube of a guy who has mounted a go pro on the rudder of a SR 22. I am thinking of trying it out too...but most likely I would use the adhesive. If somebody has done it, please let me know. Meanwhile I may just use the occasion to upgrade to a go pro black... Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  20. I really think it was my mistake. I should have been more careful whenand where I mounted the camera.
  21. The one I lost was mounted with a ram suction mount on the wing close to the wing tip. We where descending at about 170 mph and it started to rain. I guess water got under the suction cup and it flew away... Or may be the camera just did not like my movies...
  22. Well, would be fun...I will be here for two or three more years...
  23. One was mounted under the belly and the other close to the wing tip on the upper side of the wing. The latter was simply blown away after we flew through a rain shower. I guess the suction cup was not tight and it got lose... The one under the belly, also attached with a suction cup was fine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  24. I had installed two cameras one under the wing and one under the fuselage... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
