  1. Guys, thank you for the welcome. I am between KGAI and Leesburg executive. Both are about 30 min from where I will be living (vienna) . But no hangar available without getting on a long waiting list. Both airports are nice. I know KGAI well, was based there for a long time, but it seems to me that Leesburg Executive is also nice, but no restaurant..too business oriented.
  2. Guys finally it seems that I will be back in DC as of December of this year. I am looking for hangar/tie down in the area. I was based out of KGAI, but no hangar and given that we are going to live in VA, Leesburg is closer. So I am looking at tie down there (but no hangar). Given that the airplane was always hangared... I was wondering if there is a place in the DC area with a hangar where I could bse the plane.
  3. BTW guys some of you were asking me when I am coming back to the States. Well, finally it has been decided, I am going back in December to the Washington DC area. I will station my plane most likely at Leesburg Executive (no hangar!).
  4. nice video!!! The west coast is really incredibly beautiful! how did you mount your camera?
  5. Same for me. it runs well on my Windows 10 machine but the interface is horrible. So I use the savvy site
  6. Hope to get rid of my cast to go flying again

  7. Mine does too. It varies from 9.2 to 10.0. I was told it may be the place where I installed the transducer.
  8. how about one of these GPS beacons, like the one offered by spot. http://www.findmespot.com/en/
  9. Yes the writing is on the wall. VORs are going away more and more. Also GPS navigation is more stable and allows you to fly direct in areas where there are few VORs.
  10. Sounds more a rigging issue. But as a starter look at the wing leveler.
  11. I love my AOA too. It i easy to calibrate and it works great. Since I am using the unit my pattern work is much better...
  12. Mine took about 3 months to rebuild initially, and then over the last year I started adding additional things... now I am broke...but happy Oscar http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33367-/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33554-/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33662-/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36200-/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/33744-my-panel-in-action/
  13. Pay always in pesos it is MUCH cheape due to the exchange rate.
  14. It seems that my silly question was not that silly anyway... but at the end, can a MEI CFII validate my IPC....
  15. You should be fine. I fly often into 3,000 feet grass strips in hot weather and I am ok. You have to make sure that you manage the speeds right.
  16. Just to provide you guys with a closing...I got my new A20 that I purchased through Amazon. Unfortunately they were the old model. I called Bose thinking that it would be easy to swap the control unit considering that it was a brand new unit. Well, how naive was I! I was told no, that I had to return the unit to Amazon and purchase a new one from Bose... I thought that this was really one of the worse answers I ever got from them... I still like the unit and Amy keep it...but I must really say that I am disappointed with their response. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  17. Let me share with you my experience. Before buying my mooney, I had a PA 28. I took care of the plane the same way I am taking care of my mooney. I invested a lot of time and money to have the plane up to the standards I liked. I kept my logbooks at home and never left them with my mechanic. One day my mechanic I had finalized the annual and the mechanic had to do the entry. I was late and I could not wait so I left my books with him. That night a fire engulfed his shop and I lost most of my logs and about 20 percent of the value of the plane. The new owner got himself a perfect PA 28 at a heavy discount. But I agreed to have the plane inspected by a mechanic of his choice and I even paid for it. Later on the new owner crashed the plane into a cornfield in PA. But that is a different story. 18. Now, to complicate things further... is an IPC an instruction per se or just a validation of the capacity of the pilot to fly IFR...
  19. Thanks for the input... So I have to find a ASEL CFII...
  20. I have a very silly question to put forward, but can a multi engine CFI do an IPC for a SEL? In advance, thank you for your advice... Oscar
  21. I have an IPAD Air for my daily tasks, but bought an Ipad Mini for my plane, because it is smaller and more suitable for our cockpits than the Ipad AIr, which I never know where to put it. I have the Mini Ipad mounted on my yoke. I run Garmin Pilot and Jeppview for the charts.
  22. Last Thursday a good friend of mine volunteered to help me with my BFR. It is not easy to find a certified CFI where I am now so when he told me that he would do it, I jumped on the opportunity. I had finalized my written part of the WINGS program so I had enough credits. so I just needed somebody to validate my flying part. We flew and I was lucky to have a photographer take some pictures of me landing and taking off. We did all the flying part, but then my friend realized that he was a CFI and not a CFII and that he was a CFI for a multi engine plane! So no luck, no BFR no WINGS program and again looking for somebody to help me with my BFR... or Flight Review as it is called now. But here are some pictures of the mooney... http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36992-at-the-terminal-at-mgsj/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36991-taking-off-from-san-jose-guatemala/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36990-about-to-land/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36989-final-approach/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36988-taking-off/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36972-guatemala/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36971-volcanos-guatemala/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36970-volcanos-guatemala/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36969-guatemala/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36961-pacific-coast-iztapa-guatemala/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36963-pacific-coast-guatemala/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36964-thumb-img-2268-1024/ http://mooneyspace.com/gallery/image/36965-thumb-img-2269-1024/
