  1. For better than 50% more.....just get some pulse demand units. I preach on these all the time but they need to be on your list if you are into oxygen use. For $299 you can get the old style units on the close out page. I have had my first gen units for 11 years with no issues. They aren't "cheap" but it would make the smaller 76 system last as long, probably longer than a 115 system. Another huge benefit, using regular small cannulas. No mustache size goober looking oxy-saver cannulas ! http://www.mhoxygen.com/index.php/portable-pulse-demand
  2. We need more Mooney's Covering four classes with four Mooney's right now ! I know Jeff is on MS...are the others ? I will be there for the Friday night cookout. http://sportairrace.org/sarl/node/2528
  3. Great time ! It was nice to put names and faces together. The wind was gusting at home too but it was right down the runway.
  4. According to the Poll, at least four Mooney's and 11 people. With the maybes, at least two more airplanes may show up That is if everyone coming has signed up. It is central time. Show up in time to be sitting to eat at 11:30. I think we are also going to the breakfast in Shelbyville Tennessee and then south to Cullman.
  5. Know any locals that are going to the breakfast in Shelbyville Tennessee ? If my copilot can, I am thinking about going up there first and then to Cullman.
  6. Why are you actuating the speed brakes on the ground ? After a courtesy check moving and inspecting wiring on the ground I wouldn't worry about it. They only do good in the air I never actuate for a preflight check. They will slam down when killing power at shut down if forgetting to stow them after landing. Some say that you should "occasionally" drop them like that and it moves the parts around to different locations to wear more evenly over time. I recently sent mine in for a rebuild at 1,975 hours. One went inop totally due to pilot error. I don't want to say how "he" screwed up but I will say you can cycle the speed brake button five times and it will not turn the runway lights on !
  7. I think to determine that, you need to lay eyes on it. Maybe pull that side panel off. There is a chart showing external Mooney leaks...kind of a go no go. Not too concerned about safety if it's only leaking out under the wing. Run off one tank unless the other is needed for the journey...fill as needed.
  8. We can......it will take 2.2 hours haha :-)
  9. If you want to pay for an hour of fuel in this gas hog I'll take you up.
  10. I posted up a poll so we can give the restaurant a ballpark head count.
  11. So I can give the restaurant an approximate heads up. If unsure select the last choice and come if you can. I think if possible, show up in time to be in the restaurant by 11:30. Earlier to shoot the bull outside or hang around after.
  12. Neilpilot, shoot him a message.....perfect chance for a ride back to tys
  13. I tell folks all the time this is the BEST investment you can make if on oxygen regular. It makes a tank of o2 last forever. Also, I have never worn anything except a regular cannula (not an oxysaver) even up in the 20's and the o2 saturation was fine. Mountain High also has refurb units, newer and older style for lower prices. My old style have been trouble free for eleven years now. Another note, during a flight I'll occasionally drop the cannula to my mouth to give the nose a break. Can't do that very well with an oxysaver.
  14. I think plan on eating at 11:30 or so. Show up 11:00 to 11:30. This is located in the central time zone too.
  15. Not sure who all is coming with me but possible if I have room.
  16. Anyone have another option to throw out ? If not I'll give notice on some of the other Mooney spots and alert the restaurant.
  17. Mooney's are soooo fast that he's already seven days ahead
  18. Here is a dedicated thread for discussion. KCMD Cullman Al. has a nice little restaurant over the FBO. Some mentioned Gulf Shores, that's a stretch from North Georgia. Anything more central ? Maybe right south of Birmingham ? KRZR, Cleveland Tn. Is having a grand opening for the FBO. Free BBQ but maybe a stretch for lower Alabama.
  19. Don't discount a hard rap with a hammer either. Correct socket, extension, hit the end of the extension a couple of good licks then remove.
  20. How about Cullman Al. KCMD ? It's been a while for me but I always have liked the restaurant. Nice spectating looking out at the huge skydive operation too. Restaurant is on the second floor. http://www.cullmanregionalairport.org/assets/PDFs/Menu_lite_edited.pdf Anyone want to start a separate thread for this ?
  21. Excellent point regarding the flight following.
