Couple of things. Most people run-up or begin their t/o roll and see only their static rpm (low by about 100rpm), then fail to notice it slightly after lift off when it comes up to full dynamic rpm. My J runs up to only 2600, then produces 2685 shortly after lift off. This is normal. However, 2550 may be a hair low, even for a carbureted bird. Check your full rpm in the air. Also, before you go and spend time with a light, check your vernier adjustment at the governor. Two turns on the rod end or your interior control stop may do it.

OK, that's awesomeness.

Chris, what is your useful? I only ask because you lighted your load pretty good, yet you have bladders. Could all of this be a better case for adding bladders? Net-net?

If budget allows, an Apsen will yield a solid 10-14 pounds, depending.

Right, but you call out the Koch Bros. and are silent about subversive ideologues like Soros and morons like Tom Steyer. I would also remind you that the democrats had complete control of every branch of our government for two years and liked this system just fine. In fact, democratic operatives have been behind every attempt to allow PAC's to exist. In 2010 Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, was a conservative group that tried to put a stop to it. So, here we are. Democratic power slipping away and the whining about the Koch Bros. is rampant. My make on the Koch's? They'll get it done this time.

Tanis Preheater Installation
John Pleisse replied to moosebreath's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Weber installed my Tanis in under three hours.....easy-peazy. Never a problem, works great and of high quality. My Tanis is installed on the oil filler and this is just fine. I have 12 years of service with it. Just get nylon wire ties, loosen your clamps and pull your wire a little higher above the filler cap ring (1.5 inches of play) and you are in business. Simply put your left hand on the filler cap while you affix your male extension cord. Literally grab the filler cap and the female Tanis plug in one grip. The Rife is not different in this regard. This issue is so incredibly minor, I would implore you to adjust it with some play and wire-tie it down. Took me 5 minutes. I can assure you any other manner is a PITA. Tanis has full time support, modern website and flexible purchase terms. Well worth the price for a better product. You made the best choice. Rife, not so much. Just bought a Rife for the Bonanza, not happy with it. Careful, you can burn the finger prints off your fingers if you touch a Rife element. -
I had one of the first 300 serial # S2000's. Special fiberglass and wheel package. I would head out on the interstate and I would mess with big V8 cars....Mostly Vettes and 5.0 Mustangs. I would bait them in to go side by side at about 85mph. As soon as they would start trying, I would drop it from 6th to 4th in a half second with the pedal on the floor. The valves would bust wide open and the engine would do about 8600rpm in a one second burst, up to about 117mph. It is a remarkable car and requires high RPM use to gain performance. I spun it a few times. It's almost as bad as Porsches...they'll spin. I sold it because I had two toddlers at the time and I literally, thought I was going to kill myself in the thing. An unbelievable car, especially for the money. I sold it two a local attorney for $24k when it was four years old.

Sorry...we kept the Iraqis and Iranians at war for a decade. They played well in the sandbox together. Wanna make it better? Sign up for a veteran service. Star Wars was a ruse. Ended 30 years on nuclear detente. Then there are others, like the Camp David accords that can be quantified as abject failures. In your world, you actually believe that Iran is running around, causing trouble because we withdrew? We weren't there to keep them occupied? Well, first of all, that is y-o-u-r boy's doing and in some way, you ignore the fact that we lifted sanctions, allowing Iran to run wild and do all of this. They are making a power grab, not because we left Iraq, but because we entered into a nuclear treaty with them. Strength, in exchange for weakness. I mean, it was you who said yesterday that all of this was very complicated and involved some bullshit, like back door trade routes to China. C'mon Man. To suggest we went to, or withdrew from Iraq, to keep the Iranians busy, well, this is material for the Rosie O'Donnell blog. Iraq war expensive? Sure. Two stimuli to provide union election paybacks, that cost twice as much as Iraq, have left us with crumbling bridges....now that is rich.

You want an airbase and shave 20% off their oil? Sometimes it is merely about our interests that can't be directly quantified. What is ISIS costing us now? What does one day of our financial markets being shut down cost us? Are the Iraqi's destabilizing the region? No, the only problem is Iran and your guy is F%&&*cking it up. June is gonna be great....Supreme Court rulings and Iran will have to turn their library card back in. The withdraw should have been a liberal wet dream for you.

Yeah...they were boo'ing us when we rolled into Baghdad. They cried when Saddam was executed. Our interest? An evil dictator gone, WMD's or not. Did we take over the country for a quid pro quo and steal their oil? Any massive air bases or treaties requiring their land and resources? Finally, you expose your deep dark distain for the country that affords you a great career, a turbo prop and side arm to shoot. You petty little whiner...still pissed at Bush v. Gore Supreme Court. Out of the closet. Finally!!! Oh wait, sorry, that was Mike.

AndyFromCB: Expanding their middle east empire and helping us fight Al Quada and ISIS...Yes, yes, I know how all these short term allegiances come to bite us in the ass...Why do you think Saudis are funding ISIS? To fight Iran. OK, I have heard everything. And how about the Iraq war and about a thousand of our guy's legs blown off. This is utterly delusional. I guess it is so complicated to understand, that Iranian Shia taking over Yemen is just part of our swell alliance with them. Then there's the Omani's who just gave Iran a new mountain perch to control the straight of Hormuz. All part of our new world order, I need to read up on. Wow....I need to sharpen my grasp of foreign policy.

Zero, 2006. 30k, garage kept in new condition. Got it new for $42k...they could NOT give them away, then. Now...they want a holy mint and won't deal. The F250 has a 5 gal urea tank that only lasts 1 oil change or every $6k miles (synthetic). The F250 has a governor if you run out of fluid... It electronically limits rpm and speed. If you forget urea in a new Merc same thing. Run either tank dry of diesel and you are looking at $1,500 purge.
