Doesn't the fully loaded Cirrus come with TKS? That's another $50K on the Acclaim. http://www.wcvb.com/news/small-plane-crashes-near-burlington-mall/26440712?tru=XxUoE#ixzz34MAblKjE

M20J Strange engine behavior - question to the forum
bnicolette replied to treyizy's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Byron these are some more pics. Note that I am zoomed in VERY far (definitely not off scale) I've included a picture without zooming in. Generally this was happening to me within the first 3 minutes of start up. Once I had the valve reamed out........no more issues. I've included a picture on the flight before the valve was reamed and then another one after the valve was reamed. -
M20J Strange engine behavior - question to the forum

Have the #1 exhaust valve reamed. It is less than a 2 hour job if that. Manifold pressure up and EGT down is definitely screaming sticky valve. Same symptoms of morning sickness. See picture attached. -
Portable ADS-B Solutions -- Moment of Truth!
bnicolette replied to Marauder's topic in Avionics/Panel Discussion
I was head to head with a Blue Angel today and FF was nice enough to yell in my ear.........Traffic!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8JT2ZvStEY So, as long as you have ADSb out you will get an aural traffic warning from Foreflight.- 239 replies

Portable ADS-B Solutions -- Moment of Truth!
bnicolette replied to Marauder's topic in Avionics/Panel Discussion
I am planning on flying to ILG tomorrow Chris so I will get some screen shots. I'm not sure what to expect either. That was a post I found over on Beechtalk. I assume that my SkyguardTWX box will provide everything needed for the Stratus to realize that I have ADSb out and therefore should give me aural traffic alerts.- 239 replies

Portable ADS-B Solutions -- Moment of Truth!
bnicolette replied to Marauder's topic in Avionics/Panel Discussion
Also part of Foreflight 6.1 is a nice display of own ship if one has ADSB Out installed on the aircraft. You can use this as an independent test of your own ADS-B Out unit generating your correct N number, latitude and longitude, etc. Also, when FF detects own ship, it activates the audio traffic alert feature and it uses own ship's baro altitude to compare with TISB targets which makes the altitude indication more accurate on the traffic being displayed.- 239 replies

Oops. Nevermind. They did add back in the audio alerts for traffic. I love Foreflight. They always seem to listen to their subscribers!! Customer service is top notch. Email them and in no time you have a response.- 239 replies

Woohoo!! Thanks Chris. I get so excited with each new update. It's like Christmas a couple times per year. Now, if they would just release the traffic audio alerts I'd be happy. Well, until the next thing comes along that I want. :-)- 239 replies

First class!!

Congratulations Bob. Always nice to hear at the end of a check ride as opposed to "you had your hands full". Big thumbs up to you sir.

He was truly an inspiration! A lot of folks can't drive anymore at 85. Ramsey is still out flying, navigating and working the ATC system like a pro. Awesome!!!!!!!

Here you go:

Seth & Jett (my boys) said they were really excited when Mike pulled up and they saw a cage in the back seat.
-
Thanks to all that came out today! Had a really good time and it was great to meet some new friends and see old ones. Hope all made it home safely and endured the bumpy ride over the ridges.
-
Seriously............bring a chair. Not going all out here and just throwing on some hot dogs and some burgers. Already have waters and soda on hand. Just come on out and enjoy the perfect flying wx and camaraderie.

I'll have the beggars cup handy!

Not really sure Chris? But here is what I do know (at least 6 Mooneys): Chris (guests?) Mike (guest?/Bird?) Lloyd Alan & Anthony Gentleman from Pottstown? (can't remember his name.) John (Bravo owner from LBE) Mike K. Brett (whoever that is) (+ his wife and kids) Seth (maybe but definitely not) Heck of a turnout you got going here Chris. You better get your butt here early and start cooking for your guests! Where is PTK??? Come on Pete put some miles on that paint job. Anybody heard from xftrpilot? (Dick). I'm going to email him incase he hasn't seen any of this.
-
Go ahead Chris. I'm seated and buckled in. I'm now ready to read your upcoming post about "who Brett is". LMAO.
-
Seth you just need to adjust the previous commitment buddy. I think we're shooting for a noon start and there is no ending. Just when everybody is done jib jabbing. Folks if you have kids/wives you're welcome to bring them. My boys are 8 & 10 and they will be there.

Right on John!! Is the F35 going to track westbound?
-
Okay guys here is the plan. Just so nobody gets jammed up parking at the T hangars I have coordinated with the airport, tower and Xcoal to use a ramp beside us. When you land just ask Tower/Ground to park on the Southwest ramp in front of Xcoal. They should already be aware of where the Mooney's are going to want to go. Attached is a picture of the ramp area that you are going to use. Park facing the big hangar with your tail towards the runway and over the grass. (just giving Xcoal as much ramp space as we can).

Anthony sure hope you can hop a ride with Alan!! Sure be nice to have another Beech guy there, so hope you can make it Alan. By the way, the Mooney banner is still proudly displayed in the hangar. Mike I haven't really taken notice to the noise levels. I do have to admit I've always liked the sound of twin props humming together on takeoff. And the 550's have a really cool deep growl when idling. (Anthony understands)
