  1. Ross, As I mentioned, copilot visor is installed into the outboard insert for the Pull strap so it must be original. To be clear, pull strap installation has two inserts, only the OBD one is used for the visor. It was years ago when I last time removed the interior trim but according to my memory, Pilot side has the similar insert.
  2. Interesting. I think they are plug and play. My early 67F has LASAR sun-visors (looked like ones you made) attached to the outside corners. I believe threaded inserts on both sides look factory and RHS is used to attach Pull Strap (item 19 in IPC). I would suggest removing interior trim panels and check, you might be pleasantly surprised.
  3. I am not sure if 67F originally came with Sun visor; I couldn't find them in IPC. My plane came with the set of LASAR Sunvisor installed with STC (I think). You'll need to talk to them to see if available. Good luck.
  4. Beautiful interior. leather like this easily belongs on a classic British racing green roadster.
  5. I understand, that was my next search when I get a hold of my personal computer. By Boeing you mean Avial? I HATE when they call "heritage company McDonnel" and such and rebrand or claim they invented everything. They would call a DC-3 Boeing! Your Google people must be better than my google people. I got 5 pages, all right but no sale prices, only a few RFQ. Cheers
  6. Well, not my 1967 SM. I do have somewhere newer manuals that this info is coming from but not on work computer. Thank you
  7. Mooney service manual recommends PR1403-G-B2 for sealing removable access panels in the tank. I read it is discontinued in North America. What do you typically use as a replacement?
  8. Great job of documenting your tank work, thank you. How much Sealant did you use for your job and which one? Did you use cartridge applicator or stuff in a can?
  9. If you are looking at the Rod end like M34-14, it's a Heim (an RBC bearing company) and "standard" part you buy from Spruce. There might be substitute available from Aurora bearings as well. You can remove one from Tube Assembly and replace it with the new on. Tube assy would be a Mooney p/n and available from MS. I went with former, cheaper route.
  10. As mentioned above, Clamp holding the Bowden cable shield might not be tight. This should be visible by removing the LHS cowl panel. on my plane, I secure this with safety wire; my IA showed me a nice way of doing it some time ago. The inner wire is connected to the door lever by #10 screw (IIRC) and on my plane it is hidden by the LHS landing light that is replacing the Oil cooler (my plane has a 201 oil cooler relocation mod). This makes things difficult if inner wire needs adjustment to the point of I might need to drop the LWR cowl or do some blind wrecking behind the light. If you still have oil cooler at original location, access might be different. Good luck
  11. Earthquake! It happened to a friend of mine when one hit Seattle in early 2000s. It was right at the moment when they jacked his M20F for a gear check. He was lucky as it didn't crash but said it was memorable experience. Having said that, I left mine on the jacks quite a few times over the years.
  12. John, 100 mph tape should Be used on slow Cessnas. For your F, I would suggest using (at least) 200 mph tape. One way or the other, my 67F has no such fabric installed in the belly.
  13. Where did you buy the (mooney p/n) rivets? I was told they are not available.
  14. Eric, This one does, inflatable one!! Got it last summer and my wife and I used it few times while camping at Cavanaugh Bay (66S). It's really a decent kayak.
  15. Great work. your plane is ready for another 55 years!!
  16. I believe issue is also unnecessary removal of lower cowl for annual inspection and such. Years ago, i convinced my IA to stop removing it during owner assist annuals and (repaired) duct is holding just fine, thank you very much.
  17. I recently spoke to Lasar since I am on waiting list for it (and never got the call) and was told they had few batches delivered over last year or two. It seems they'll get more soon and they updated my phone number so I hope I'll get the part soon.
  18. Plan was noon-ish, after I wash the plane but with smoke already rolling in (KPAE IFR, 2 sm in smoke) and tomorrow’s forecast being worse we may just cancel…
  19. Alan, that makes him overqualified! BTW, I saw big X over W28 runway couple of weekends ago. did they finish repaving? I might flyby on Sunday to have a look before meeting some friends at Spruce goose cafe. Would you care to join?
  20. I don't know... I have a fixed shoulder harness in my F and I wouldn't like the reel because it's quite bulky. it's install above the shoulder unlike the typical car installations that are on the floor. YMMV.
  21. Ritch, I don't think so. as per IPC, 1968 M20F uses also 3 iron rivets with solid weight. From what I saw, newer design has 6 screws per side (as opposed to 3 long rivets) that tap into helicoids installed into the weight. There's actually SB M20-335 that describes this and is applicable for Acclaims and Ovations. and, btw, early M20F weights do not look the same as later M20J ones, possibly even later M20F.
  22. Got the same email and found that funny. I spoke to LASAR parts before that and iron rivets are nowhere to be found so I am not sure how would they fix it.
  23. Are you sure you'll not get it with your engine monitor? It came with my EI CGR30-P when I installed it few years ago.
  24. Well, I flew it for 15 minutes shortly after they bought it. It was just for fun and was impressive for a video game ; both visually and having a full motion, of course. I never done any real training in it, so can't really tell about trim and control feel.
  25. Pete, You might want to call Richard Newman at Chinook Flight. They even have a Redbird sim! He's based at KPAE and it used to give BFRs and IPCs in owner airplanes, some in Mooneys. Not a specifically Mooney CFI but good. https://www.chinookflight.com/flighttraining/aircraft/
