  1. this was my first fly in and what an experience. Cant wait to attend again.
  2. John, you're right on the money. The gal of polygone is $92.50 and the gel is 5 lb for $292. And i I second airparts of lock haven
  3. I had my senders overhauled for $400 total. Is that a route you would go?
  4. I been using it for 2 years now, know all about the cure
  5. unfortanetly i can't practice on cardboard and then the aircraft. If she was an experimental i could but the SB calls for certain pro seal and if i remember right. the stuff i want to use isn't approved.
  6. I use B2 at work on my helo fuel tanks. As an A&P I have used B2 on tanks both 100 and JP8, I feel it's harder to apply but provides a good seal. I always appreciate a seasoned A&P advice and knowledge. Will look into A2 more. Thank you. Do you still use top coat? I do... Since the MB requires it...
  7. So after reading thread upon thread about fuel tanks I finally decided I will repair my own tanks. I ordered the Polygone 310 AG GEL and have limitless supply of pro seal and top coat from work so, tomorrow, Friday 09 OCT, I will attempt to start on the right tank to see how the process goes. I'm pretty excited, but nervous to. I will post pictures on the progress as it goes along. The question I have, I read the Mooney SB about tanks and how to repair/seal them, I'm thinking of using 1/4" of pro seal..... any recommendations? Also, I know to use a little paint thinner to make the pro seal easier to apply. I want to do more research on products allowed to seal tanks, only because where I work we have a sealant that seals fuel bladders and its better than pro seal I believe. inputs would be appreciated.
  8. And of course I just purchased some things yesterday... FML
  9. Thanks -a-, I'm going to look into this and do my tanks.
  10. i would love to know the chemical used in the stripping process.

  12. What airfield are you at? I would help you...
  13. so this ADS-B in is a traffic awareness system?
  14. kinda miss the pics on the homepage and the trending topics... but like anything... We have to play with it to know it.
  15. I have an opinion on why to use a boost pump for this application. So, when you use a fuel boost pump on start up or on take off is no different than using the boost pump when you transfer tanks. The reason is partly purging air bubbles but also to have a constant state of pressure delivered to the engine driven pump. So, when you are flying along your engine driven pump is keeping a steady lets say 25 psi for math purposes. Well when you transfer takes you have a hick up in fuel flow and pressure fluctuation. Kinda like putting your hand on a running vacuum and removing. Now I'm sure that millisecond it takes to transfer tanks my not effect anything but its the redundancy, what if that moment when you switch tanks the diaphragm in your engine driven pump fails? your boost pump is designed to sustain engine performance.
  16. also, could be your temp sensor or instrumentation
  17. airflow to oil cooler? when was oil cooler last serviced and flushed? when were the oil lines last replaced?
  18. i have a bag of them here... i will mail you a few if you tell me the size.
  19. Check the jetsam of this time of year, i want to say its a southerly stream. If thats the case i would fly north to avoid the head winds.
