  1. 14K for the basic strip and paint from Aerosmith. Metallic paint and fancy stripes are extra.

  2. Bob,

Aerosmith was 14k for full strip and paint with upcharges for metallic paint and complex stripes.

      Thanks - plane looks great.

  3. Shrobby - Happy to help spend your $! The LED's are a great upgrade. I use my lights (including landing/taxi) much more for enhanced safety. The 231 is a little challenged in the electrical department and the LEDs cut the load. Especially if you are running heated pitot and prop on a cold and dark night! Keep the community updated on your plane when you are done.

    • Aerosmith charges 14K for the basic full strip and paint.  Upcharges apply for metallic and complex scheme.
    • Not the cheapest bid but I think sometimes you get what you pay for

Thanks - it looks great! I am not to needing one but wanted to know about what a quality job would cost as I evaluate long term ownership. Great layout and outcome - good job!

  13. Just returned from Longview with new paint by Aerosmith Aviation. Scheme was done by Scheme Designers and is a combination of the 2009 Acclaim and the 2009 Piper Mirage tail. Very professionally done and great customer service.
  14. Teflon tape the leading edges to help with erosion from IMC.
  15. I am having my plane painted now in metallic base coat single stage paint. The weight penalty for the entire plane with 2 stage paint is approx 20 lbs. if you are not too picky on colors your painter should be able to suggest alternative colors that are available in single stage to avoid the weight penalty. Pearl paints are generally 2 stage. Some metallics are available single stage.
  16. Strange looking oblong rear window. I like the doors though.

    Whoa!!!

Oops. The new paint job makes it look like a Comanche! In addition to the paint but it looks like the rear window changed shape, kinda oblong looking to me.

  19. Hi guys. Dates are starting to gel. Any one available to lend a hand Jan 29 or 30 by giving me a lift back from Don's to West Houston? thanks!
  20. Yeti,

Any interest in helping a fellow Mooniac drop off his plane at Longview?  I'm in need of a ride from GGG to IWS (west Houston) either Jan 29 or 30.

      Hey Geoff,

I cannot get my big plane rides and little plane to line up and make this happen for you.  Sorry.   Hope you can find a ride.

      Kelly,

Thanks for the response. I found a ride back.

  21. Hi Paul,

You mentioned you may be available to give a fellow Mooniac a tide back to Houston from Don Maxwells.  Looks like I will need a ride this Friday Jan 29 or Saturday Jan 30.  Are you still available?

Possibly but my plane is with Don right now as well for it's annual.  If it's done by this weekend I can help you out.
