  1. The unit is 2 months old. Senders are factory originals. No firmware update that I am aware of.
  2. Hmm. That is a different error than I am getting. I get a "Fuel Level" error which requires me to press a button to "clear" it after which is seems to mess up the accuracy of the individual tank readings but the total remaining is still accurate. My error seems to occur only in flight and at some pitch attitude other than level, I.e either climbing or descending.
  3. Thanks for the tips I have O2 so altitude is my friend. Right you are about the complicated airspace. I will try not to catch any F16s . An all female line crew!? That is pure marketing genius.
  4. I am headed from Houston to Orlando next week and looking for mid way stop recommendations for airports with at least a decent crew car. Could be FL, GA or AL Got any suggestions?
  5. Cluster gauge is sold all else is available.
  6. What prompted you guys to change the senders in the first place? Some kind of error from the JPI? I am getting an intermittent "fuel level" error on both tanks.
  7. Complete my CFII and start training my first student. Fly right seat turboprop in a TBM.
  8. I would also add that good Aeronautical Decision Making is key. Just because the plane and pilot have the capability doesn't mean the mission is a go. This gets down to personal risk management. However, I fully support the OPs position that an instrument rating and proficiency are great tools to add to your mooney. Fly safe.
  9. The unit for sale is a 14v and is spoken for at this time.
  10. Removed from 1982 M20K (intercooled) for JPI upgrade for sale: Factory cluster gauges Manifold gauge (intercooled) RPM gauge Hoskins FT101 fuel flow CDT/TIT gauge
  11. Found the culprit but not the solution. The noise stops when I unplug the panel docked 696 from ships power. Any ideas on why it only makes noise when plugged into ships power?
  12. I’ll have to ask installer.
  13. Headed to the airport now to check the copilot ground. Plastic washers in hand just in case.
  14. Yes noise goes away when transmitting or receiving.
  15. Yes alternating high and low but cracking or rough not clear.
  16. The noise remains after the JPI breaker is pulled and the remote annunciator is not installed. Not needed due to location of JPI. What was your solution?
  17. Checked the squelch. When mike is open noise ceases but returns as soon as squelch is reduced to eliminate hot intercom.
  18. I’ll ha e to ask installer.
  19. No USB charger plugged in but a good thought.
  20. Ok here are the symptoms on my 82 M20k 1. Alternating medium and high pulsating noise in intercom headsets started after avionics shop installed JPI 900 and removed GEM 601 2. Radios in the panel: GNS 430w, GMA340 audio panel, kx165, strike finder, 696 in doc 3. Noise occurs at all four seats in different brands of headsets 4. Noise does not occur on speaker 5. Noise occurs with engine off 6. We sequentially pulled each breaker and noise still occurs regardless of any individual or combination of pulled breakers 7. Swapped the GMA340 for another one, noise still occurs 8. Noise is not the ELT 9. Powered off each radio by the radio power switch and noise still occurs 10. When pilot isolation is presses, noise stops in pilot position only, noise still occurs at all other stations 11. Noise stops when speaking in intercom or when radios are receiving audio but returns when all becomes quiet again 12. Unplugged all headsets and tested each station noise still occurs Both me and the avionics shop are stumped so I turn to the wisdom of the board.... Thabks for you ideas.
  21. Does anyone know what they are or can confirm that it is true?
  22. What about the long bodies? Doesn’t the Acclaim do 242 knots regularly?
  23. Sorry, I missed the year of the Acclaim. Given that I agree the quote seems high.
  24. My suspicion is that the large difference you are seeing is driven by hull values. Insuring a $750K hull vs a ~$150K hull on a linear basis is 5x as much. Add the retract premium and no time in type and viola!
