  1. No USB charger plugged in but a good thought.
  2. Ok here are the symptoms on my 82 M20k 1. Alternating medium and high pulsating noise in intercom headsets started after avionics shop installed JPI 900 and removed GEM 601 2. Radios in the panel: GNS 430w, GMA340 audio panel, kx165, strike finder, 696 in doc 3. Noise occurs at all four seats in different brands of headsets 4. Noise does not occur on speaker 5. Noise occurs with engine off 6. We sequentially pulled each breaker and noise still occurs regardless of any individual or combination of pulled breakers 7. Swapped the GMA340 for another one, noise still occurs 8. Noise is not the ELT 9. Powered off each radio by the radio power switch and noise still occurs 10. When pilot isolation is presses, noise stops in pilot position only, noise still occurs at all other stations 11. Noise stops when speaking in intercom or when radios are receiving audio but returns when all becomes quiet again 12. Unplugged all headsets and tested each station noise still occurs Both me and the avionics shop are stumped so I turn to the wisdom of the board.... Thabks for you ideas.
  3. Does anyone know what they are or can confirm that it is true?
  4. What about the long bodies? Doesn’t the Acclaim do 242 knots regularly?
  5. Sorry, I missed the year of the Acclaim. Given that I agree the quote seems high.
  6. My suspicion is that the large difference you are seeing is driven by hull values. Insuring a $750K hull vs a ~$150K hull on a linear basis is 5x as much. Add the retract premium and no time in type and viola!
  7. I have been on the GTU wait list for 7 years. I moved to London and back, got married, had a kid and still don't have a hangar at GTU. I could have built one out of leftover chewing gum by now.
  8. Thanks Ron
  9. Does anyone know the stock make/model for the pressurized mags on a 1982 K model?
  10. Old Chinese proverb: Man with one clock always know what time it is, man with two clocks never sure. Aviation corollary: Man with one AI always nervous, man with two AI's always in doubt, man with 3 AI's never sure.
  11. +1 for Phillips. The alternator coupling is roumored to not like other brands. It's a $1500 part new.
  12. Great joke, but the Irish were neutral in WW2 just like the Swiss. Make him Scottish!
  13. That's awesome.
  14. Thanks for the responses so far. I have a 75 cf onboard system. Will I be ok with the 125 cf tanks or should I upsize?
  15. Looking for instruction/techniques people use to fill onboard oxy tank. I have a two bottle 125 cf each cascaded mobile fill station and the transfill connectors but have never seen anyone do this before. A video would be perfect. Anyone done this themselves?
  16. Hi guys. With summer imminently upon us I offer up my ICEBOX portable AC for sale or trade. I am looking for a smaller footprint unit in trade or outright sale. Thinking $100 plus shipping. Includes all accessories. All but the Bluetooth connectivity work perfectly. Could be user error. Geoff
  17. Please add me too. Houston. KIWS.
  18. Jerrod, What do you need? I'm not a CFI (yet), but it would help to know what your goal is...
  19. Feel like helping out another Mooniac? Need a safety pilot for instrument currency? Want a reason to poke holes in the sky? I'm your guy!
  20. Bus to Houston was 4.5 hours complete with wifi and opportunities for cultural enhancement with the other 10 passengers. Not bad but I prefer to travel by Mooney as we all do. Annual was clean. Now I want to fly!
  21. Well, time to pick up the plane on week of May 1st. Anyone dropping off at Don's who wants/needs a ride home in exchange for taking me there?
  22. Nobody wants an excuse to go flying I guess. Not so bad, Greyhound runs an express for $50 which isn't bad. Free wifi on the bus.
  23. Anyone need a ride to Longview the weekend of April 8/9th? I'm headed up from Houston to drop off the plane for an annual. Open to San Antonio Austin or other points in between. Perfect situation is if I give you a ride up you give me a ride back!
  24. All hat, no cattle as we say in Texas.
