  1. I believe that's an upgrade - makes a great replacement for the turn coordinator.....
  2. I do as well. I did all of mine recently when I finished up painting the windshield and front cowling mod. I left all the fasteners stainless. One other point for those looking at changing the cam locks - when I removed the old grommet a 1/4 inch socket and extension that fits through the grommet helps to "roll" the grommet out of the skin. When I compared the new grommet to the old the new were just a wee bit deeper - so buy em as a set!!
  3. if you didn't order them - these are invaluable to both your sanity and fingers..... the item you are asking about is the c spec tool.
  4. Cody check you PM... sorry for the hijack...
  5. I'm in line for another eci on my prop - have 240 hours since rebuild - but the rebuild was in 98 ( I've put most of the hours on the prop since my purchase three years back) I had it resealed in 2011 during the last eci and now the shop doesn't want to eci it without a rebuild......

    Detail it out

Little nit picky things to be done
  7. dav8or - did you ever get your glareshield?
  8. What shape are the O rings? Less thickness there would give you more "slop" in the lever - next is a turn or two on the nut. IMHO I would not think that you've operated the levers enough to wear down the surface.
  9. No flying today. Spent 8 hours waxing and cleaning. She looks fab!

  10. Did you se the level adjustment notes? Notes: S/T adjusts level of INTERNALLY GENERATED SIDETONE (if not produced by existing radios). RX adjusts level of RECEIVE AUDIO from existing radio equipment. Should be balanced for adequate level in both InterVOX and Pilot Isolation (emergency) modes. MUSIC adjusts level of EXTERNAL MUSIC SOURCE (tape player or other). ATC adjusts the trigger point for the music muting from an incoming radio source (ATC transmissions). Use a small straight blade screwdriver, or potentiometer tool to make these adjustments, and do not exert excessive force. Only the ICS level is adjustable from the front. All other levels are preset via these pots. But I still vote for the headphone purchase
  11. Looks to be a volume adjustment on the side of the case.... I googled intervox intercom pinout and found the install PDF http://www.aem-corp.com/manuals/install_ops_AEM/AA80-IO08-5.00.pdf
  12. Cool in th e summer and a heated seat in the winter...... Hmmmmm.
  13. I actually made one for far less than the commercial variety. Flew with it twice in the sweltering heat and it did help make things tolerable on the ground. As indicated its good for a short period of time - maybe 45 minutes on twenty pounds. Needless to say its not on my take along list. But I may use it as a novelty at some point.
  14. As you initiate a positive climb raise the gear, i usually have them stowed prior to halfway down the runway. Flaps are second after confirming positive climb - then trim trim trim.
  15. So if a bee is in the mooney and the mooney is flying at 165 knots and the bee flys from the hat rack to the glare shield how fast is the bee flying??????
  16. Heres the thread when the mod was being done. http://mooneyspace.com/topic/5022-whoo-hoo-201-windshield-mod/page-2
  17. Too windy today so I applied the finishing touches to the windshield and cowling enclosure mods....
  18. The aircraft type is connected to the n number - somehow they link to the database, I flew a Citabria a while back, entered the n number and it identified it. Does the same with airport icaos
  19. My conversion took about 40. IIRC the placement of the windshield was about 12 hours of that
  20. AvconnectLt. It works great.
  21. Or you can point your browser to frontpanelexpress.com and save the headache
  22. Good point there.... maybe I'll put it on top in front of the fresh air scoop... certainly can't be any worse for airflow than that eh???
  23. Mines a vertex, I bought it when I saw it working in a glass of water at Oshkosh... I have the NiCad back and the double a back as well. Carry it in the plane all the time.
