  1. I don't have a 201 but I know I slip my bird all the time. I could never get into some of the places I go without using a slip. Its important to maintain your speed though. I heard a guy say he never slips his Mooney because he read something like that. Nothing in my POH restricts slips so someone is sending false info.
  2. Got it!
  3. It won't let me edit...not sure why not!
  4. Thing is I have no power! So had to go with $80.00 heater!
  5. This is my $80.00 pre heater. It isn't the quickest heater but it seems to work after about an hour of sitting. I am debating weather it'd be safe to leave there for several hours outside. maybe with the tube extension! Components are simple outdoor coleman heater 8-6 reducer 6-4 reducer tube if you so desire!
  6. Oregon....thats all I have to say!
  7. Wing covers & stab covers! When I didn't have those I used the windshied deice fluid and it seemed to work good and not cause any problems. I used the purple stuff, but any of it will probably do the job.
  8. I just made a pre heater today. Its a small camp style propane heater with an 8-6 then a 6-4 adapter & some ducting. I am going to try it out tomorrow. Should work I just have to find a blanket now! Cost will total about ($80.00)
  9. If only I had one of two things... A) a Hanger electrical power at my tie down! God that would be nice! Cold starts would be so much easier!
  10. My strobes don't cause that but my beacon does. At least I don't notice the strobes cause the beacon is so noticable. I have gotten used to it though and now only notice it when its not there or when friends ask what the heck that noise is! sorry N6843N it posted under your name first!
  11. I've had this problem and talked to my mechanic abou it. I have an M20C as well and when I start my airplane in the colder weather I turn on the fuel pump and then pump the throttle in and out about 7 times. If it doesn't kick over in a couple rotations then it might need 3-4 more shots. The colder the weather the more fuel they need to get started. I only do about 3-5 pumps in the summer.
