Hi Jolie: Just having fun. I love going to aviation events and getting to promote aviation is just the icing on the cake..LOL Any reason to get the old girl out is good by me. ( and i mean the plane...not the wife...LOL) Photos will be posted this afternoon when i get to the office and have a high speed line to download them.

Whitecourt was a big success. Over 2000 attendees ( Nothing like Oshkosh but still not bad) Had about 70 people stop by the Ambassador booth and 20 kids got their picture taken inside the plane. Will post pictures later today.

At Whitecourt AB yesterday. $6.80 / gallon My home base is about $4.80. and goes as low as $4.40 sometimes

Good Morning guys and gals: Just a reminder that on Wednesday Aug. 4th is the Whitecourt airshow and show and shine. The Ambassador booth will be on the static display line. If you are in the Whitecourt AB area stop by. SHow will feature the Snowbirds, F-18's, bombing runs by world famous "Pyro girl" and her P51 Mustang, Bud and Ross Granly and much more including over 50 classic car. Hope to see you there.

Diamond has been putting diesel engines in the single and twin for a while now and i have been seriously thinking about this even though my engine is pretty much still new. Thankfully i have a few years to go before this gets to me a serious issue for me but i will be following the diesle/mogas/ tubine issues closely.

After what i went through with debris in my fuel i would be very concerned with anything in my tanks. I got some bad fuel from a remote Northern FBO 2 weeks ago and it clogged my idle jets resulting in my engine quittting when i powered back on final at my next stop. I would get it checked out.

Diamond is eating the competition here in canada much the same way. I was in London Ontario a week ago and there were over 40 new 2 and 4 place planes all sold and waiting to be test flown. They also opened their own flight school. They are doing what Cessna did for the C152 and 172's and literally training their next customer. I love my Mooney and want to upgrade to a newer one someday and the extra door, larger luggage door, a little more interior space etc would go a long way to convince me to buy a new one. Regardless, i can tell you this much, i will never own anything but a Mooney. I bought a new 172 in 2005 and after a year sold it to buy a 50 year old Mooney and consider it one of the smartest things i have done.
