    Our Fly-in Complete with Blizzard
  2. I figure about $80 bucks per hour operating costs. But i dont have the hanger payments etc. I also put $80-$100 bucks per hour in a little bank account to cover the big costs when they come such as the engine re-builds etc.
  3. Congrats. Welcome to the world of Mooney ownership and also welcome to the best Mooney forum on the planet. Hope you and your new adopted child have many happy years flying together.
  4. Hi Prop: I am 6ft 2In and 240 lbs and i have no problems with my A model. You should be fine.
  5. Hi Jezz. We were planning on flying over but we received 6" of wet snow Saturday night. We had about 70 people show up but nobody arrived via Air. I will post pics in my photo gallary today or tomorrow. A good time was had by all. We managed to have the breakfast as planned and we had some vinatge cars there and the RC demo was able to fly.
  6. N74795 Yes. It includes the screens.
  7. Chris: Those were my posts. We had the fly in today...what a mess....we had 6" of wet snow. Had about 70-80 people show up and had a good breakfast etc.
  8. I have paid anywhere from $150 bucks to $300 bucks! It takes forever to take off my cowl etc. The $300 bucks was at a Mooney dealers place and the $150 I pay now is at my regular mechanics place and that includes oil, filter and oil/filter examination for particulites.
  9. Just a reminder to all my Canadian freinds that the St.Paul fly-in is this Sunday. Airplanes, Classic cars, Large RC demonstrations, Food etc. Airport ID is CEW3 This is the first Canadian event for the Ambassadors and hope to have a good turn-out. I will post pics. on Monday
  10. Way to go..Thats one of the moments you will remember for life. My first solo was almost 35 years ago and i remember it like it was yesterday..( yet i can't remember what i had for breakfast..LOL)
  11. Dont know if anybody here watches "Ice Pilots" but we are off to Yellowknife for the weekend to visit Buffalo airways. Should be a good weekend as the weather through the plains looks good. we are going to stop at the Athabaska sand dunes. ( The largest inland sand dunes in the world,) as well as Fort Simpson and Fort McMuray. Hope you all have a good long weekend..
  12. Its nice to know that my little old M20A can out-do something all the newer more expensive mooneys can. I love the fact i can get 2 adults 2 kids and full gas tanks and still get more than a pair of shoes in the luggage bin and not be over gross.
  13. I have 1050 useful on my M20A
  14. I had to do touch and go's during my insurance mandated 5 hours of dual on type other than that i dont do t/g's for all the reasons mentioned in the posts.
  15. hmmmmm i tried that too and still no joy.
  16. Nope. I just tried that and i still cant see just that one thread for some reason. I can see every other posts just not the landing gone wild one. Wierd.
  17. Mitch: Thank god. I thought i was having a stroke and losing my eyesight...LOL
  18. Is anybody else having problems seeing the landing gone bad posts? i only see the first person that posted ( i see his name and header but not the message) and can not see his post or the replies.
  19. Lets put it this way, i have seen planes written off by the insurance company due to hail damage. George is correct you could loose 50% or more.
  20. DaV8or...now thats funny. I have a real nice plane but a ratty looking panel too....
  21. I dont see the difference between IFR VS VFR at night unless you have something you can see once you break out of the cover. If everything below you is pitch black and there is nothing but trees and swamp for a hundred miles in any direction how would being IFR help? Even if i am going VFR with flight following i still have nothing for hundreds of miles. I feel a lot more comfy when i know there is a road i can see or a field below me, and here in Northern Alberta there is nothing.
  22. The Ambassadors website has the date and location correct for St. PAul
