  1. Flight Custom III's for the mains, Flight Custom II's for the nose (due to clearance issues), all with Michelin Air Stop tubes. No worries! Align the tire yellow dots with the valves, be very careful not to get crimps in the tube when mounting, maybe get the wheels balanced as you would a car wheel. Yes, they look good and last for many years. For most, they will start to dry rot before they wear out.
  2. Quote: mooneygirl ....there is no need to spend a lot of money on a professional scheme, when their help is included in the price.
  3. I can't think of any benefits, Nick. Get some air tight tubes and you won't need to top off your air very often. I wouldn't trust my Mooney rims with a tubeless tire.
  4. Good points, all.... Just thinking that lots of less experienced pilots, and probably some experienced ones, don't know the proper way to restart their engine in the air. It's in the POH.

  6. Quote: KSMooniac I'd suggest working with a professional scheme designer. Fantom and I have used the same guy with great success and very modest cost compared to another scheme design company that you might have seen in AOPA and elsewhere. PM me for details if you'd really like to iterate with your ideas and come up with something unique and personal!
  7. When I asked about VG's at the factory, they said their test indicated no more than a 1.5 kt reduction in stall speed. Unlike KSMooniac, I'm not an Aerospace Engineer. Nice pictures BTW, Scott.
  8. The investment required to race a Mooney could be donated to those poor souls also.

  13. On final, is it power to control altitude and pitch to control airspeed, or the other way around?

  18. We had a good turnout at our last event, McCharacters at New Smyrna Beach; 10 Mooneys and 23 people. This months meeting will be this Saturday at Spruce Creek (7FL6), a rare opportunity at a private airport, Bob Carroll who warns us that our time of arrival is about the same time as returning aircraft gaggles from a regular Saturday morning breakfast flight. He warns us that most guys fly in formation and do a military overhead entry into the pattern so be very careful and and keep a sharp eye out for traffic. http://www.airnav.com/airport/7FL6 Aircraft parking will be on Cessna Dr. tail in toward the big oak tree park double stacked to allow enough space for all the Mooneys. If you run out of space there, park across Cessna Dr. with wings pointing to the condos leaving enough space for cars to get out of the hangers. Future Events are all on the second Saturday of the month: October 8, Spruce Creek, (7FL6.) November, 12, Punta Gorda (PGD) December 10, Flagler (XFL) All events start at 11:30 . PLEASE E-mail Dave by Thursday night tp let him know if you're going to try to make it. He can then call the restaurant on Friday with a head count. No one is obligated to come if they can't make it for whatever reason. Hope to see you there, Dave, Ruth and Gary
  19. Herman Cain really handled the partisan questioning from Christiane well on This Week, yesterday. With every interview he only gets better. http://abcnews.go.com/watch/this-week/SH559082/VD55145953/this-week-1002-interview-with-hermain-cain

  21. Reasonable people who don't flip-flop, and respect each others times, can profit each other. A good broker can save you time, knows how to get deals done, may get you a better plane or a better price, and both parties can walk away happy. Given a wise guy, penny anti, potential buyer or an unscrupulous broker, then it could be a disaster. A decent broker most assuredly realizes the best interests of his client are in his best interests. I wonder if the average potential buyer has the "best interests" of the broker in mind. Business 101.
