  2. Hi Mimi Well, as you may know, I have "been there, done that." I am so sorry for your experience. When it happened to me I remember sobbing to my Dad who was also in the airplane about totaling Maggie I. He said, "It is just a piece of metal. Metal can be replaced. There are no funerals being planned today." It took many weeks for me to find any solace. My Dad was also happy that I was back in the air within a week with my instructor. He said the only tragedy would be if I didn't fly again. If you need or want to talk, please reach out to me, anytime. All the best in your recovery. Jolie
  3. I am registered! Whoo Hoo.
  4. It will help me with my Caravan arrival next year!!
  5. I have the flight training scheduled in a bit over a month. Will be in my airplane. My CFII is in LA which is a great place to learn. I have 13 hours from him, but it was six years ago.
  6. I just passed my IFR written. I used a combination of Aviation Seminars and ASA. If anyone would like feedback, send me a PM. Now on to the fun part.... or at least more fun.... the flying. #MooneyZoom Happy Mooney Girl
  7. A little Sunday morning reading for those of you who, like me, forgot to change your clocks back and are up an hour early for church? Airports Matter: https://blog.aopa.org/aopa/2016/11/05/why-does-what-happens-at-santa-monica-airport-matter-2/ Here is my latest installment of AOPA Opinion Leaders.
  8. I am just home from Texas and the 2016 MAPA Homecoming. Mother Nature was pretty kind to us Mooney pilots this year. The Saturday airport day was perfect short-sleeves weather. There were 40 plus Mooneys parked on the runway and another dozen or so in hangars at KERV. The seminars were great, and it was super fun to see old friends and make new ones. Right Seat Ready! was held at the Mooney factory and our 14 attendees got 25 minutes each in the full motion Red-bird simulator on the second day. A big thank you to Trey and Lela who work hard all year so we have a fabulous experience. Here are a few photos from the four days of fun.
  9. Jan Maxwell and I will be teaching Right Seat Ready! on Thursday the 20th [9:00 until 3:30] and will have sign ups for Red Bird Sim with CFII for our attendees on Friday the 21st. We will have an apparel/DVD table at the factory on TH/FR and SAT. [Sorry the course is sold out} I have attached the list of items we are offering. 10. Reignite the wonder of flight: https://blog.aopa.org/aopa/2016/10/06/reigniting-peoples-wonder-for-one-of-the-most-extraordinary-aspects-of-the-modern-world/
  11. Of course my Maggie II is front and center at AOPA Prescott. She was the Belle of the Ball.
  12. I could not figure out how to title the photos, so I just added text. We had a blast. I mean it was so awesome.
  13. That is Fernando's J correct? Welcome to the Mooney Family. I hope that you joined MAPA and are coming to the Homecoming later this month in Kerrville. Of course your J was in Boots on the Ground: the Men & Women who made Mooney, the documentary I made about Mooney!
  14. Wow what a stellar time at Prescott AZ for the final AOPA Regional of 2016. I met 15 or so Mooney pilots and many more Mooney lovers. Miss Maggie was placed at show center! Thanks to all that helped out. What memories!! As soon as the 2017 dates are announced I will be looking for Point Persons to attend. Teresa Arredondo owner of ArtCraft Paint Selfie on the ramp at show center. Robert DeLaurentis [Zen Pilot's airplane the Spirit of San Diego in the back ground, blue tail] flew around the world for charity. His first book, Flying Thru Life is available on Amazon. His second book, Zen Pilot [based on his round-the world flight] will be published later this year. This little girl was the first visitor in Maggie. She was a firecracker. Me and one of my aviation heroes, Rod Machado. Rod stopped by the Ambassador booth to chat about ways that we can continue to work together to get more folks flying. This little cutie pie in Maggie II. Dan Justman from AOPA gave a ride to myself, Teresa and Robert De Laurentis. #AOPASelfie Mooney Tail She wants to be a pilot. Thanks to Lightspeed Aviation she is sporting the wireless headset the Tango
  15. The Mooney Ambassadors/Mooney Girls will be there! Come by the booth and say howdy and maybe get some cool Mooney swag. If you can help out with set or tear down you might even get a hug or two!!
  16. I didn't see your question Don, but saw that it did get answered. If you fly with the Mooney Caravan, eventually you will get a call sign that is proposed by your fellow pilots. I was very honored to get a call-sign my first year flying with the Caravan. Anyone that knows me knows that Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies, and we recently showed it at Fly-In Movie Night at Oceano Airport. I had a great time with the Mooney Caravan this year and feel bummed I was dissuaded for so many years prior by someone I used to know. I think it is a fabulous opportunity for all Mooney pilots whether they intend to fly into OSH or not.
  17. I received a fun package in the mail yesterday. Lightspeed Aviation mailed me a promotional poster they developed for use at Oshkosh for the Tango wireless headset. During my time flying with the Skytypers in Chino, CA for an AOPA article I took a selfie while wearing the Tangos and being photobombed by the #3 Skytyper. Anyway, I sent the photo to Lightspeed and they liked it so much that it was one of five used in their campaign at OSH. The Tango really is a great headset. I love that it is wireless, the inferface with my phone is super easy. The sound quality is excellent. The headset is lightweight and very comfortable. I used it to and from OSH this year and in the Mooney Caravan. Lightspeed is the headset sponsor for Right Seat Ready! our companion seminar. So, all of our attendees not only get to look and and hold the Tango, but we use them hooked up wirelessly to our PA system for our emergency simulations. I wanted to share the fun photos with my Mooney Family. Hope to see everyone at MAPA next Month.
  18. AOPA Fly-Ins are for real-world GA pilots and enthusiasts and their friends and families. Each day is loaded to gross with exhibits, displays, aerobatics, great speakers, and...aircraft! You'll see all the latest technologies, find ways to get the most out of flying, and learn how other AOPA pilots fly better and safer. All while basking in an incredible airport environment of fun, food and friendships. Take your time and browse through the exhibit halls and aircraft displays. You'll see all the new equipment that that you've been meaning to learn more about and will talk face-to face with the manufacturers who have made it all possible. You'll also see things you've never heard of or thought you needed. Be sure to drop by the AOPA Village and let AOPA staff help you fly better, safer, and cheaper with our amazing benefits and services. On the way out, don’t forget to pick up a cap, t-shirt, or commemorative souvenir at the AOPA Store. Of course the Mooney Ambassadors will have a booth with a children's activity and an airplane open for display. Come enjoy the fun and help out the point person in the booth. Point Person: Jolie Lucas Let me know if you can come help volunteer: MooneyAmbassadors@charter.net
  19. I really like the Lightspeed Tango Wireless Headset. Not only is the headset small-ish, but there are no wires to contend with. I love the clarity, the bluetooth technology and of course the aforementioned wireless capability. $800 for an ANR isn't bad either!
  20. Here is my latest installment of AOPA Opinion Leaders: https://blog.aopa.org/aopa/2016/09/06/pilot-plus-one-educating-right-and-backseat-companions-on-safety-and-recreational-flying/ Let's get our right and back seat flyers educated. We have three spots available in Orange County this weekend. We have ONE spot at Kerrville Texas October 20th and 21st at the factory. http://www.MooneyGirls.com to register.
  21. There are five spots left in our Right Seat Ready© companion seminar for both September 10th and October 20th. September 10th is a basic single engine airplane seminar at Orange County airport in CA. October 20th is Mooney specific and will be at the Mooney Factory. This seminar is for men or women, back or right seat non-pilot companions. Here is the information.... For RSR in KERV: www.MooneyGirls.com For RSR in SNA: http://oc99s.sws99s.org/new/?page_id=902

  25. The change of leadership has been in the works for nearly a year. Jerry was a visionary for the company. But when it comes down to it, the company needs to be able to design, implement designs, get them certified and to market to be viable. Dr. Saxena has been evaluating Mooney for some time now. I hope his expertise in manufacturing will serve the company well. The M10 is behind schedule and over budget. The certification for the Ultras has been a nightmare, not because of anything Mooney is doing wrong. I continue to be very pleased that our airplanes are manufactured in the United States and specifically Kerrville. I was pleasantly surprised that Kerrville is doing the composite manufacturing. Hope to see all my Mooney Family at KERV October 20 through 23rd for the MAPA Homecoming. It will be good to hear from Dr. Saxena there. As well, Jan Maxwell and I will be teaching our companion seminar Right Seat Ready! at the factory. Thursday all day seminar. Friday half day in the RedBird sim with Mooney CFII Luis Acosta.
