  2. The spec sheet on the Ultra is on http://www.Mooney.com just look for the press release. The press release does say to hold until tomorrow, so for whatever that is worth.
  3. I hope that you all enjoy my AOPA Opinion Leaders for January. Norm Baker is such a fun individual, who has such a zest for life. http://blog.aopa.org/opinionleaders/2016/01/26/born-in-to-the-golden-age-of-aviation/

  5. From the looks of Flight Aware there are two Mooneys headed up from the San Diego area! Have fun everyone! #MooneyZoom Please remember if any of you have a non-flying companion, and would like them to attend our April 2nd Right Seat Ready! seminar in Camarillo, CA to please register. 6. It's a no-go for this Mooney Girl. Please remember I have a ton of connections at SBP San Luis Obispo as well as Oceano and Santa Maria KSMX. Good thing about SMX is a big airport, long runways, lots of parking a restaurant right on the field. SMX often the site of the PPP. May 13th and 14th is Oceano Airport Celebration, a Salute to Veterans. We collect items for military care packages, have a Friday night burger fry and dance. Camping on the field. Lodging and fuel discounts and can park about 100 airplanes. Saturday is airport day with live music, static displays, and fun http://www.FriendsofOceanoAirport.com
  7. I am going to check the weather in the morning. Not looking too great coming out of Santa Maria, but it would be fun to see everyone. Today was crappy weather all day!
  8. In most cases we are recommending Slow It and Slide It --keeping the gear up. There are a few exceptions. Swinging the gear from the right is a difficult thing. But it can be learned and practiced. Bill Wheat Mooney Guru, "Slow it and slide it on the belly" comes to a stop about five times faster than on the gear.
  9. Becca You are correct here and we do recommend that our non-flying partners get Mooney specific instruction while flying in the right seat. One of the things we suggest is that our attendee ask for a gift certificate for three hours in the airplane. Our biggest recommendation is that during the instruction, the pilot/owner is not in the airplane. On an interesting note the organizer of the Camarillo, CA event is allowing pilots on a space-available basis to attend with their non-flying companion. We will see how that goes. In my opinion, the reason that AOPA discontinued the flight instruction was liability. We are working with Mooney to have our seminar at MAPA include time in the Red-bird simulator with a Mooney CFII. Believe me I know what you mean about CRM. With my former husband, that was a challenge. Jan and I are just really happy to be presenting our seminar. At the very least it means that we get to hang out four or five times a year!
  10. We were just in Florida doing the seminar a few months ago! We do have two more slots open for 2016 if there is any sort of sponsoring group. Of course this was developed as Mooney-specific, but now we do a more "generic" version and of course our Mooney-centric! So far we have turned two of our attendees in years past to private pilots. All part of our plan!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49evPBYkz1w

  13. I am looking for an airplane ride from SMX- Santa Maria, CA, or SBP- San Luis Obispo, CA to Jackson Westover on Friday October 23rd. I need to drive a U-Haul home from my Mom and Dad's house. Sad, but necessary. Still hard to believe they are gone.
  14. Here is my latest installment of AOPA Opinion Leaders. This is about a super cool aviation program started at a high school in Orange County California. http://blog.aopa.org/opinionleaders/?p=2682
