  1. I live in Las Vegas and fly regularly (160 hrs+/yr) to Socal, Nocal, Oregon (KEUG), Houston (KCXO) and Denver (KAPA). My Ovation (310HP) fits the mission perfectly - haven't had a need for a turbo. Just a matter of preference. Maintenance costs are a wildcard depending on the condition of the bird you buy. I average about 12.5 GPH for my flight and financial planning. My average TAS is around 174kts. My wife (the CFO lol) allocates about $65/hr for maintenance allocation (annual and maintenance reserve) and add to that 12.5GPH at around $5.60 per gallon (obviously varies) and that's another $70. So allocate about $135/hr for fuel and maintenance. That's excluding hangar, insurance, and Mooney branded apparel from Sportys (lol). I would guess add about another 10% to the maintenance reserve for a turbo but that's just a guess.
  2. I have the Gramin integrated into my g3X. Love it.
  3. I have called and spoken with both Paul and Don Maxwell on several occasions for advice. They have always been knowledgeable and generous with their time. They rebuilt my fuel pump control board, and it works perfectly. I will be taking my Ovation there from Las Vegas for the next annual.
  4. Please post to Avionics/parts forum. This one is for aircraft classifieds
  5. LOLOL! Thanks @Pembroke Advisor - Al Mooney was 7' 1" and wore a top hat while flying....
  6. My aluminum has a crack that has been stop drilled. would love to get rid of it and go with a one piece all plexi.
  7. It increases performance all the way around - most notably in takeoff and climb performance. I have it on my O and would not own one without it (even though the standard O is also a terrific plane)
  8. Now I‘M jealous. Point me in the right direction to get these!
  9. That’s fantastic!!!! My next bird!
  10. Here's a set of replacement gauges that I have for my Ovation. Its the same one, I think (Rochester 5-2100). You can see front and back with the Rochester part number on the back.
  11. Is that what was needed to get the gross weight increase?
  12. 12,000(New 4 Puck Brakes)
  13. Looks like a composite blade and not a single piece of forged aluminum.
  14. I connect my G3x touch to the GDL 51 for SiriusXm. I also get in on Garmin Pilot when connected but SiriusXM displays perfectly on the G3X
  15. Agree. Lovely plane. Could do a lot with that.
  16. I saw one similar to this last year. I believe this does not have the Bravo engine. And being an unmodified 1990 it will not have any useful load to speak of. Will also need Eaton actuator and dual pucks. Run. Quickly.
  17. I was wondering if there were any pireps on the Hubba Hubba Cap? https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/lgpages/hubbahubba06-02572.php?fbclid=IwY2xjawI1pypleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHZowpRD6W7bRcplPFxwCFOAPjonAZd1HhKtQMUe8Wny9BGrZoKEFw2ablQ_aem_nOEEg6GpTbOV4MQlinNIdw
  18. Thanks! That's really got a wide operational range! 173KTAS for 2300/19 between 10.5-11.5 all the way up to 19 GPH and 218 KTAS..... fantastic.
  19. Jeff, I regularly fly my 310HP Ovation from Las Vegas to Houston. About 6 hours or so in the air, although I like to make a leg stretch stop in Roswell. anywhere from 12-17k altitude, true in the mid 170's between 10.5 and 11.5 GPH. Great birds. I've always wondered about the Fuel efficiency of an Acclaim S - perhaps the acclaim drivers can shine some light on it. Agree with @donkaye- the 310 HP makes a big difference in the Ovation in terms of T/O and climb particularly when its hot, high and heavy. I'm assuming that one could fly an Acclaim S in the low teens and similar settings to an ovation or does the turbo make it much more thirsty? West to east, getting into the FL's would be great, but certainly not the other way.
  20. BTW - I will be removing my broken gauges and having them repaired. Will put them up here when they're done...... we need to keep these things in circulation.
  21. Finally!!! Thanks @JustusSJ - the unobtanium has been obtained! These are going on this week.
  22. Join the list! If you do a search on here, you’ll see we just had a thread about this. The gauges are presently unobtainium.
  23. If you're interested in a 6, I know of an available off market creampuff, previously owned by a major celebrity. It's located in Texas. DM me if interested
