  1. You don't have to CUT the fuselage. You can drill out the rivets and separate the tail.
  2. Swift decided to STC those models to start. So, how is going to PAY for all that testing? Every airframe and engine???? Maybe for the common aircraft, but more obscure models would never be done. I have CAP-10. Only 22 in the US. So, I just I would just have to park it.
  3. 100R also requires an STC. I agree it should be market driven. If you want independent testing of G100UL, buy some and sent it to a lab. But then what are you going to do with results?
  4. I have been a FF user. But with the new features, I have started to play with GP. GP doesn't flow for me, but it is also the new guy to me. For a while, I will run both. But I don't pay for FF due to be a CAP pilot. And my One Pack for my panel pays for the Premium upgrade to GP
  5. You do know that the Swift fuel requires an STC? What makes theirs not "flawed." ASTM is not approval.
  6. This can happen due to the dimming circuit running through the nav lights.
  7. Make sure your basic package is listed in your flyGarmin account and uses the same log in.
  8. I am not sure exactly which one.
  9. FYI, if you have a Garmin panel, GP Premium is included with a One Pack subscription. For some odd reason, you still have to pay for the Basic level.
  10. This whole thread makes me SO HAPPY that one Easter egg was finding they my plane had already be changed over to electric speed brakes. Not mentioned anywhere in the ad.
  11. BT thread - https://www.beechtalk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=238745
  12. Most people seem to recommend the Michelin Air Stop tubes.
  13. Maybe that is it. It should be a quick and easy fix
  14. Dates are posted. Mooney Summit site is updated. Mooney Summit - September 12 - 13 Mooney Max - October 16 - 18 in Branson, MO.
  15. @Parker_Woodruff Have you talked to Parker?
  16. If you fill main with aux empty, fuel starts moving into aux. So when you stop filling main and put on the cap, the level in the main is still going down. So you fill the aux, but the main is not full, so the level in the aux goes down and leaves you short of full. Filling aux first means fuel is moving from aux to main. Then you fill the main, which reduces flow from aux to main. So you then top the aux after doing the same to the other side and you are much closer to full.
  17. That was fairly late in the change in operating of piston aircraft engines. The idea of LOP and full throttle climbs comes from AVSIG in the 90s. I am talking about a deep dive about the OWT (or maybe truth) that most engine failures happen at first power reduction
  18. It downloads the SmartCharts, which is MUCH faster than the full database. On my phone, the SmartCharts database DL was very quick. My iPad required a full download for some reason.
  19. Nope. The connection from the aux to main is a -4 fitting. So that limits flow. It takes a while for the fuel to move from the aux to the main. The way I fill now is to fill the aux, then the main, put on the main cap, then top off the aux.
  20. I had heard that in the past, mainly when the idea of full power climbs to cruise altitude came about. Prior to that, it was common wisdom to reduce power to 25/25 at about 1000 AGL. Has anyone done a rigorous look at that OWT?
  21. Nothing required. The recommendation to change to fluorosilicone or Vitron components has been there since before the STC went live. The FAA wanted this as they have been trying to get the old materials changed out for over 20 years.
  22. 1) Go into App Store 2) Search for Garmin Pilot 3) Once you get the results from the search, find Garmin Pilot 4) Tap the Garmin Pilot icon in the search results. Like you were going read more about the App 5) You should see the Update button. 6) Tap the Update button
  23. That is what I was thinking
  24. Pilot - Logs discrepancy - Speed Brakes Inop Mechanic - Speed Brakes Not Installed.
