  1. I'm the very opposite - I like to buy an engine that is newer to fly it to mid time over the next 10 years then sell it as a mid time engine plane. I like to fly my planes, not wait for them to get overhauls or other engine problems. @Huitt3106 go check out www.N5763Q.com - if you've been burned by PPIs this plane would make make your A&P giddy.
  2. Have you looked at the G3X and 375? Together those look like an amazing combo.
  3. When I say make me an offer, I don’t mean low ball me Im baffled actually too. When I bought it I was in a bidding war with people, and it’s incredibly clean and fast.
  4. Still looking for a good home. Make an offer!
  5. Just got of the phone with Stephen at TT, and with his permission I am giving an update: TT is hoping now to have the the STC paperwork submitted to FAA by OshKosh. After the paperwork is submitted it is up to the FAA approve the STC. Best case scenario is 3 weeks but could be 3 months +.
  6. I got my PPL and IR with Andre Bennett out of Santa Monica. He has been instructing for 30+ years and is a career CFI. He also flies jets and have a couple thousand hours in Mooneys. Andre came recommend to me by many pilots in Los Angeles, and is considered one of the be on the west coast. Let him know Dustin sent you. Andre Bennet: 310-392-0121
  7. Sorry about that, $67,500. Thank you!
  8. Wild isn't it! That stall was perfect.
  9. Hi @DartMan, I can attest to the short field prowess of the M20E as I fly into SZP all the time - 2,665' runway. I have a stunning 1965 M20E that I'm selling with a stellar pedigree maintenance history and all the speed mods you'd want, and almost a new engine. www.N5763Q.com Also check out PiperPainter on youtube. The stuff he did with a Mooney is incredible.
  10. As @Carusoam said; Alternator creates voltage no matter at what RPM setting. Generator you will usually only see it start charging above 1600 RPM depending on certain factors. If you're at an airport with long holds for IFR departures this becomes a problem with a large electrical load (full glass panel etc..) as you're idling while not charging. For most of us generator is plenty. Switch to a solid state regulator and overhaul the generator and it will work a long time. Not a mechanic though, that's ultimately who you should consult.
  11. I'm saying if it was negligence or poor planning - am I wrong?
  12. Calm down Jim, I promise this board is not worth getting worked up over. Maybe not violation if there was a good reason - but if it was just poor planning and negligence would he not?
  13. I assume the pilot thought the thunderstorm would be an issue from the west and they would maybe have to put him in a hold again. The prevailing winds come from the west over there which would put the storm right in his path. If he would land in IMC without 45 minutes of fuel reserve he would be in violation, but if he went to PHX and was sure it was VFR it's the safer bet and "only" needs 30 minute of reserve.
  14. Congrats!
  15. I should have made myself more clear - I don't think RTIC is cheap or subpar to Yeti, I was referring to Target soft coolers or amazon soft coolers.
  16. I use a Yeti Hopper - the thing is amazing, light and keeps things cold. RTIC is the more cost effective route and probably just as good but I've never done hands on research to that. I'm a big camper and have noticed when I buy something cheap it might work once or twice then I have to buy something to replace it and it's usually the more expensive item. Spend money on durable items that will last multiple trips and you'll only have to buy it once for the rest of your life. Good outdoor products should last forever.
  17. Hope y'all are having a great week! Price reduction $69,500
  18. Nav, thank you for updating me on their relationship.
  19. Sounds like the same girl I talked to as well. She told me it won't be STCed till the end of the year as they haven't started the paperwork for Mooney and hasn't been of concern till the Cessna stuff was finished. I'm assuming this was also a slip of the tongue. Navi, why haven't they put out a press release when clearly there is a lot of miss communication?
  20. I'd have a harder time comparing the two - I have new paint, new interior, glass in near perfect condition, the 201 mod is a very large speed improvement along with wing tips etc, engine was overhauled by a major facility (Western Skyways) with a lot of other fun gadgets added, and maintenance done by LASAR and a couple of others top Mooney houses it's whole life. If you saw the two on the ramp you would think they were different models.
  21. Could have many moons ago - it's been up in the Sacramento area most of it's life.
  22. Hi Dan, 182 - haul more and get into unimproved fields.
  23. Sounds like you would know better than I would with out me pulling out the STC folder. Saw you live in Houston, I’m originally from Houston and still go back often. So fun to fly out there - turn off the radios and enjoy.
