  1. How is the N variant de rated from 340hp? Just max rpm?
  2. When I budgeted for it in 2019 it was around 22k but ended up spending like 11k all in because I ended up finding a used prop a lot cheaper. Probably right now you can bank on around 25 to 30k. The props are around 15000. The STC is 4995 if you can find a place that’s willing to sell it for that cost, but most places I talked to are selling it for 7 to 10k with their own mark up. The governor gets sent in and switched to a different variation. Fuel flow increases and you need a tach that has a 2700 redline. Fuel tank sticker that indicate 89 gallons are required too. Takeoff weight is also increase 3368 from 3200. In this case it would probably get the full 168 pound increase since the prop weighs about the same. I went from the toothpick 2 blade to 310 conversion and the difference is startling. The plane with 244hp and a 2 blade is a pig on the ground roll, especially at the 3200 gross. Climb is alright. Cruise was pretty much unchanged. I am of the opinion that the rudder trim isn’t needed, but I also haven’t flown a Mooney with rudder trim, and a lot of the time I do wish I had it. I just know it doesn’t need the rudder trim, since it’s been fine for the 1100 hours I’ve put on it in the last 4 or 5 years. It does need a lot of right rudder though, especially on a cold day at sea level.
  3. Is there a difference in availability with the N compared to the G cylinders? Maybe it may be worthwhile going the N route.
  4. The Facebook post. I’ve been looking for it but can’t find it.
  5. Did the post get taken down?
  6. Aircraft Spruce is in corona and they'll deliver to the airport. Probably the best aircraft supply store one can have. I always flew to the corona airport and would get oil and other things needed there. I'd call them in the runup area at John Wayne and they'd be there 3 to 5 minutes after I landed at corona. Probably works with either Compton or 54CL as well.
  7. FWIW I have a pair of dons visors that I’d be willing to sell if you want. Nothing wrong with them at all. Installed them and removed them simply because on the pre 04 long bodies, the dash sits a bit too high and always got in the way. Shoot me a message if you’re interested.
  8. For what it’s worth In 2018 I believe @LANCECASPER found an Eagle for sale on eBay. That’s the one I ended up buying. Doesn’t matter where it’s for sale. More people see it, the more places it’s posted.
  9. I ended up finding a hangar at 18V. thanks anyhow, Nik
  10. Give Brian Kendrick’s a call. He can probably help you, or lead you in the right direction. He does fiberglass repair, but he’s in Texas. http://www.mooneysupport.com/contact/
  11. For anyone that wants a split seat setup for a pre 84 J or K, now’s your chance. These don’t pop up very often.
  12. I’m currently working in Seattle but should be back Thursday. I need to clean my plane anyway, so I’ll be there over the weekend. shoot me a text. Nik
  13. I’m at 18v and have a slovation if you want to check it out.
  14. I shall start the bidding off at 100 dollars
  15. This is where my mind was at
  16. Do these have a sync wire so the left and right lights pulse or sync up when in the strobe configuration?
  17. I believe EASA is valid in the same way an STC is. That’s what I was told when I was looking at the wingtips from Aveo. So I would say yes.
  18. The only thing that would concern me with this prop is the thin metal strip. Most new MT props have the nickel leading edge compared to the older stainless steel edge. I’d make sure this one has the nickel leading edge. The stainless steel MT props seemed to have more issues with paint.
  19. Is your door seal tight? Both the baggage and the main door seal?
  20. For the price of 4 years at Embry riddle, one can buy an aircraft, go to a community college for 2 years, a state school for another 2, build a couple hundred hours, and sell the plane and probably come out a fairly better pilot with significantly more real world flying experience and probably save some money too. Just my 2 cents. I slightly ran into that issue 5 or 6 years ago. The hardest part is selling the plane after. I obviously wouldn't know.
  21. Is the sealant just sealing the area of the lens or also holding the lens in. I can’t tell if screws were used.
  22. The STC only includes the paperwork change from the 75 gallons to 89 gallons. Nothing on the air frame actually gets changed. Regardless if you have the 75, 89, or 100 gallon tabs, the tanks will easily keep on filling to in beween 102 to 106 galllons.
  23. thread creep but that is a sweet paint job.
