  1. AFAIK foreflight uses WiFi with the Stratus 2 or 2S receiver to connect. The bluetooth is only for the audio connection.
  2. GLAP is definitely a good product! I would stay with the factory thickness. Going to a thicker glass adds labor time to modify the clips and hardware. Personal experience. Plus, I added the 1/4 glass to my F and did not notice a reduction in cabin noise.
  3. I am into my annual for 6 weeks. I am doing it myself and I have a full time job working nights, teenage kids and family time too! I am no rush as it is a toy for me. I should be back in the air in 3 weeks or so providing I can get back out to the airport when I plan to.
  4. Propeller hub that has an AD.
  5. I haven't tried, but with my F in annual at the moment, I have all the cowls and exhaust removed. This makes access much easier.
  6. On large aircraft the data plate is affixed to the main entry door jamb. I would recommend contacting Mooney for information on where the data plate was installed on your aircraft at the factory. In a previous life I worked at an aircraft salvage operation. The data plates were surrendered to the manufacturer with a certificate of destruction.
  7. I'll be driving, as Stella failed compression test at annual. See everyone Friday!
  8. Here is the video. As mentioned above, this play is normal, the wear groove if greater than .007, is not normal. You should also expect to finde polyurethane anti chafe tape at the contact point.
  9. Around 3300 hrs.
  10. Around $4000 for the GMA 350 recently installed in my F.
  11. I will post up a video to YouTube and link it here later. Agreed I have a good solution already, thanks!
  12. Hi Clarence, thanks for the reply. If understand you correctly, there is supposed to be a wear sleeve on the tube? Thanks also for the wear limits. I am fairly certain I am beyond that.
  13. 1975 M20F, manual trim. The forward and mid tubes have wear on them from contact with the bulkhead cutouts. I am replacing them both, and noted a good but of play that I believe will just cause the same problem again. Is this play normal or is my plane missing some blocks or something to minimize this play. Quick video and photo attached.IMG_0761[1].MOV
  14. Thanks for the offer! I hope it doesn't come to that, but I am going either way.
  15. Work has cooperated and I have the time off, I have my hotel reservations at the host hotel and I spoke with Sheltair, plenty of room on the ramp! The only obstacle this year for me will be IMC. This time next year, IMC will just be a filed flight plan away!
  16. To get vapors out of an empty tank, a pneumatically operated vacuum should be used to purge the fumes. You do not want any spark generating equipment any where near those fumes. The venting equipment and aircraft should be bonded, and the aircraft grounded. http://www.rhineair.com/compressed-air-driven/
  17. There is not much you can do for a hinge except replace it. I have the same issue on mine, hinge purchased from Lasar, talk to Dan! The door will need to be removed to replace the hinge. Fortunately the hinge is screwed to the aircraft side. Unfortunately it is riveted to the door.
  18. Awesome how to post, thanks for sharing!
  19. Glad it was an easy fix!
  20. Had mine for 9 months as well, works great! Hopefully warranty will cover it.
  21. Registered, hope work stays out of the way. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. It's a pre flight step for me after I get the seat adjusted I verify the engagement lever is stowed. I have bumped it more than once with my left knee getting settled in. 1975F. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Flew two legs on Sunday with no problems. Turned on the logging as ForeFlight requested. Sent them the information but I think it was not much help since everything worked properly. They said turn the logging off and they will keep an eye on it, whatever that means. I will update if this happens again. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Went on a flight last Wednesday to meet up with another pilot in KIER and pick up a few puppies to take to a rescue. Set up the Foreflight as usual with the departure, destination, altitude, my tail number etc just like I have been doing for 10 months. My tail number is N6897V. I was meeting a pilot flying N181EJ. The only reference to his tail number is in an email for the trip plan. Somehow Foreflight picked up his tail number and attached it to my track log/flight. I have reached out to Foreflight and they asked for another flight with data logging turned on to see if they can find anything. Has anyone encountered this bug with Foreflight?
