  1. Will do, will he know who "Marauder" is? If you check out the first picture in the Avionics Gallery on our website, you will see his handiwork on our Mooney.
  2. Thanks when it's complete I'll post pics of everything in a separate thread.
  3. Took a few shots today of the windows completed and a close up of the windshield rivets painted.
  4. Steven: I own a repair station at KMQS in PA. http://www.sureflight.com 136 nm from KISP. We bought a Mooney 205 that we are refurbishing: paint, interior, and avionics. We changed all the windows including the windshield with a Great Lakes Areo .250" extra thick windshield. We can replace your windshield and professionally repaint the lower retainer after it is riveted back on. Feel free to email me at dwatkins@sureflight.com me if you are interested. Here is a few photos from our install last month.
  5. 1000 ft at KLNS is marginal VFR. KLNS is 403' elevation. 1000 foot ceiling is approx 1400 MSL. You would have to fly a max of 900' MSL to Smoketown (370' elevation). You definitely wouldn't have 1000 feet of air between you and the ground but you would have had 500 so it was VFR, just barely...

@carusoam the GoPro comes with a hat rim clip, that is what I am using. Full power take off roll is 50-60 feet. It's 900 lbs empty and 180 Hp. Crazy power to weight ratio. The Ocean City takeoff was full power, I was airborne before I hit the runway numbers.

Passing along a tip... Get a ND filter for your GoPro like this: http://www.amazon.com/PolarPro-Neutral-Density-Filter--GoPro/dp/B00GV8QO96/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1461810476&sr=8-1&keywords=nd+filter+gopro it gets rid of the prop lines when shooting through your prop. Here is an example of some video I took without the filter: And another video with the filter: you can see in the second video the prop blurs out with the filter.
  8. You can go to FAA.gov and look up L-3's STC to get the AML. Here is a link: http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgstc.nsf/0/a9ca2a921241475886257f690066d2e8/$FILE/SA04046CH_AML.pdf For Mooney's they have: M20, M20A, M20B, M20C, M20D, M20E, M20F, M20G, M20J, M20K, M20L, M20M, M20R, M20S, M20TN
  9. According to this http://newsroom.garmin.com/press-release/featured-releases/garmin-unveils-next-generation-all-one-ads-b-transponders Comprehensive Display Compatibility In addition to G1000, the GTX 345 integrates with thousands of installed displays to provide the benefits of ADS-B In, further extending existing avionics investments. This initially includes the popular GTN 650/750 touchscreen navigators and GNS 430W/530W navigators, aera 796/795, Garmin Pilot, ForeFlight Mobile and other third-party avionics. Compatibility is extended to the G3X™ Touch glass flight display and is expected in Q3 2016. Support for G500/G600 is also expected in Q2 2016. Since its talking about integrating with other Garmin PFD's in Q2 and Q3 2016, maybe they haven't worked out all the quirks on the various G1000's yet either? I am pretty sure I read something about the G1000 needing the latest software. Some OEM's may be slower than others rolling it out?
