  11. Good point.
  12. In the G1000 planes, there is not avionics switch. When the master is turned on, all the avionics come on. Like you, I was used to starting planes with all avionics off. Other pilots also notice this when they are in my plane. brad
  13. I remember the repeated crash and goes that I did in rental 152 and 172's during training while learning to land. I eventually moved up to flying arrows for the complex and retract experience. I got my high performance endorsement in a staitionaire and spend a lot of time in G1000 172's before moving up to my Mooney. Brad
  14. My fiancée (petite) and my 11 yo daughter (looks 15) both like to wear my David Clark DC Pro-X Headset. The on ear smaller cups fit well and don't squeeze tight. The noise canceling is good, but not as good as my Bose. But they prefer the more comfortable DC's. Brad.
  15. As long as your origin and destination are in the US, overflying Canada on an IFR flight plan is no big deal and the controllers will coordinate. No eAPIS needed for that. The suggestion to carry passports in case of an emergency is a good one and I'll start doing that in the future.
  16. I haven't been there, but I'll ask at the flight school and find out for you. Brad.
  17. After a great weekend with my daughter, I flew her back to Boston (KBED) from Erie, PA. We had a great tailwind on the way there. Of course, I paid for it on the way back.
  18. I waited until it passed and came in on the nice tailwind behind it today.
  19. My m20tn has them in a bag of parts. I can snap a close-up picture of them in a day or two if that will help you in any way.
  20. Great looking bird! Congrats!
  21. Phil, Tell him neurosurgery is way cooler. I may be biased... Brad
  22. Great Video. Thanks for sharing. It looked beautiful there. Was this for business or please? Worth visiting for fun? Brad
  23. They are open pretty early and late and I do have a key so that I can pull it out myself if I really need to.
  24. That is definitely the way to go. At my place the FBO staff brings the planes in and out and has them out front ready to go. And when you taxi in, your car is already on and waiting beside where you are marshaled into. But you do pay for it. Monthly rent is a little over $400. They do a great job taking care of the planes. And an Acclaim is a heavy beast to push around by yourself. Brad
  25. It is a great idea. I usually file IFR. So the Landing light goes on when cleared for the approach and the taxi light goes on when cleared to land. My transition instructor got me into the habit.
