  1. It's a F listed for $43k right here on MS
  2. Best question to date!
  3. That one did seem to survive that pretty well and I am sure the 4 point harness paid dividends. What that does show is a lack of knowledge, understanding or SA on wake turblance. That Cirrus started to roll 27 seconds after the -60 took off. Even in a larger aircraft that is too close. In the PC-12 I give a minimum of 2 minutes spacing to Helos and three minutes to anything 'heavy' or the CV-22. In my Mooney, I give three minutes to helos operating on the same runway or on an up wind taxiway.
  4. You rely on rain clouds to wash your Porsche? You must live in the "Sunshine" state.
  5. Kris, Looks good
  6. I don’t know if having an all metal aircraft would have changed the end results of these accidents, but it is amazing how the plane’s crew compartment disintegrated around the occupants. There does not seem to be much if any protection.
  7. Pitch-Power-Ball-Flaps-Gear-Flaps. It’s easy and covers all important items during a go-around. I would bet if you asked any Air Force pilot this is what they would rattle off. The first three are done simultaneously, pitch up, power as required (full power is not always needed) and center the ball (always needed). Flaps-gear-flaps, is useful if at full flaps, however since the Mooney does not have a catch for partial flaps, you could skip that and go to gear-up once you know that you will not touch down, then flaps up incrementally as airspeed and altitude increase.
  8. Yep, it is a requirement for Air Force pilots to make a 'gear down' call. With out it the tower will generally not give the clearance or at the very least ask to verify the gear is down while giving the clearance. It has become such a habit for me that I give the gear down call to civilian towers even in my Mooney. In my experience the civilian towers just ignore the call.
  9. So, I guess my plane is not happy about the prospect of sitting. I noticed my stock EGT gauge acting up on my last flight, today it was mostly at zero. I have a JPI EDM 700, so I know all the EGTs were actually good. Additionally, I lost my vacuum pump on my way home. I actually noticed the gauge reading zero before I did the red low vac light. The gyro had not started to tumble and was able to engage the backup vacuum. It took a bit for the gauge to register good pressure but it eventually did. My list of issues is growing. I looked at the vacuum pump after flight and there was not any thing immediately obvious. I did not have time today to really did into it.
  10. Weather is great at KMAI now, lots of planes....although I am the only Mooney.
  11. I have one of those...its called NW Florida, where it is currently 92% Humidity.
  12. It could be that my Google skills are weak, but it seems that may of these systems are no longer made. I can only find the Black Max for $595 and their web site is not set up as a store so I have a email into them to see about purchasing their system. http://www.flyingsafer.com/p-n-2065.html
  13. Don,

I would appreciate seeing what you have build for the dehydrator.

    thanks,

  14. I appreciate all the advice. I'm going to fly one more time Saturday and then get the oil changed on Tuesday. I'm still looking into dehumidifiers.
  15. Chuck Ebbecke. He is a Master CFII. His M20J is based out of Bonifay, FL (1J0). He was a MAPA Safety Foundation Instructor and currently a FAASTeam lead for this area.
  16. Thanks for all the replies
  17. I have the Gill G-35. I was looking on AS at this charger https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/vdc12248aas5.php It specifically mentions Concord but not Gill.
  18. Yeah, he would not even let me pay him for my transition training.
  19. I though about trying to find someone, however the one that I did my transition training with is located quite a distance away. I don't want to make it inconvenient for anyone.
  20. My plane is going to have to sit for the next 3 1/2 months. It is be hangared. Should I disconnect the battery, get a battery maintainer or just let it sit?
  21. Well, it appears that this upcoming weekend is fairly busy for everyone. I also just realized that a fairly local airport for me, Marianna (KMAI) FL is hosting a fly-in Friday evening and all day Saturday (20-21). http://cityofmarianna.com/airport I think I am going to flex to this and try to get in for the pancake breakfast and enjoy the festivities.
  22. Easier yet, you can bring up a HSI on both the 430 and 650 (I assume most others as well) That way there is no interpreting direction of arrows or track vs. heading, just center up the GPS displayed HSI.
  23. I wish it had the split seats.
  24. My 75F has the one piece non-reclining, not easy to remove rear seat.
