  1. How do you activate the G3X GPS? It doesn’t show up in my list of navigation sources
  2. I really want to say thanks to everyone for their thoughtful responses and support for my suggestions. I'll be sure to return the favor when the time comes
  3. the ship's batteries (not the G5s)
  4. i know. it was impossible when 5th avenue was lined with dump trucks full of sand and steel barriers around the whole block
  5. hopefully the batteries will still run the radios!
  6. I've also seen ITT -- inlet turbine temp
  7. Immelman
  8. i thought the same thing when i saw the HSI page. Will ask.
  9. The next waypoint and the nav source are already known to the G5. It’s not rocket science to display them. It’s more like i ordered steak and I’m asking for a side of mashed.
  10. What more I want are in the bullet points
  11. This is (most of) what came out: (sandel substituted for King AI which was sold)
  12. This the Garmin G5 with the Master and Battery Master turned off, and operating on battery (5 hours 46 minutes) You'd really rather keep your vacuum system???
  13. there is no Bravo Exclusion Zone route across manhattan. the Central Park route is a heli-only route and requires a clearance.
  14. for reference, i fly 30/2400 (78% power) at 1550F TIT and 18.6 GPH
  15. I have a G5 in my new panel as a standby instrument. It does everything I want, except for two things related to navigating while "partial panel" (I put it in quotes because its hardly needle, ball, compass): 1. it requires a few twists and pushes to switch between PFD and HSI mode. If the G3X is out, I really want to be able to switch between the two displays with a single press 2. Although the PFD shows the navigation source, it doesn't show any navigation info, not even the next waypoint in the flight plan.
  16. well the panel is done. I spent about five hours on the GPU today going through everything and updating the databases. I feel like I’ve done as much as I can on the ground, And I will be picking it up on Tuesday, and spending three days flying with a CFII Unfortunately I couldn’t get a great shot because of the angle of the sun. I’ll post a better one tomorrow
  17. How do you get 100??
  18. I plan 25gph in the climb and 20 en route. 89-15=~76 (89-reserve) 30 minutes of climb to 18, 000ft agl and 16 gal that leaves me 60 gals for cruise and descent, or 3 more hours its conservative but 4hrs is a decent leg for 750+nm
  19. He said within parameters
  20. There is no time limit on the bravo engine within POH limits of 38” and 2575 and temps. (On the r44 io540, for example, there’s a limit of 1.6” mp for 5 mins over max MP). However there are potential longevity consequences that I’m sure someone will pipe in with.
  21. You might try getting a quote from shapeways https://www.shapeways.com/
  22. seems worth a try, with an oximeter
  23. The real pi day is july 22
  24. I’m having one installed on my Brave as we speak! Can’t wait to try it out
  25. check ebay
