  1. And home to some nice skiing.
  2. Tallest in the continental US but not even in the top 20 in North America http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_highest_major_summits_of_North_America
  3. Not possible! The Apple fanboys tell me that iPads always just work.
  4. A friend tried this in his Bonanza and it sanded the paint off the leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer.
  5. All citizens of this country have the right to evaluate and question the actions of those who enforce our laws. It is not a special right reserved for former officers. There are countries where only the police can judge their own actions but this is not one. Thank you for your service.
  6. I thought you traded up from a C. Did you sell that before you started shopping?
  7. I didn't mix up users. Your comment sounded like you were saying it was bad to let someone else change your oil. If that wasn't what you were saying then please accept my apology.
  8. You could argue that but it still wouldn't be true. Make your own choices but don't trash people for making different ones.
  9. The runway at Kestrel slopes up dramatically at one end. Be careful if you decide to fly in there.
  10. Air-Mods at N87 is an MSC and does flight training.
  11. Personally, I don't really see betting my life on that to save $40. There is also the liability issue. If a passenger or the next owner is injured you can bet that there will be lawyers asking you why you decided to ignore the more stringent standards.
  12. Is there a particular reason you wouldn't want to conform to the newer standards particularly for flammability of materials? How many times have we all heard about pilots who survive a crash only to be severely injured or killed by a post-crash fire? Just because you might not have to comply with 43.13 doesn't mean it isn't a good idea to adhere to those methods.
  13. When it was just me in the plane I could get between 145 and 150 KTAS in the 6,000-8,000 MSL range. My D had the all the speed mods.
  14. Much like its cousin the P51 the D model is far superior to the lesser C model.
  15. Pay no attention to them. They're just jealous.
  16. So, by this logic a D is better than a C? I think I can agree with that.
  17. Just think of your browser like a tv. You control the tv but someone else sends you stuff to look at (tv shows or web pages). Your old browser is like an old tube tv. It does ok as long as the picture is square. Suddenly someone changes the pictures to widescreen rectangles and your old tv doesn't have the ability to show the whole picture. It does the best it can but you are still missing something. Your new Chrome browser is like a new HD widescreen tv; it can show you the whole picture. Nothing changed with your old tv. It just couldn't keep up with the content that it was receiving. The problem is they keep changing both the content and the browsers so it is a constant battle to keep up.
  18. Looks like you are missing a fastener.
  19. The browser's main function is as a "translation" engine to convert the HTML from the web page (e.g. Mooneyspace) into what you see on your screen. That can include how your mouse interacts with various features of the page. So, your browser (along with some little helper applications called plugins) can have a significant impact on how a particular web page functions. As new types of features and functionality are designed into web pages older versions of browsers can have trouble translating the new instructions. That will sometimes result in problems like you were having. Google Chrome has an automatic updating feature which should help keep it up to date for you and possible avoid similar problems in the future.
  20. I'm not aware of any Google browsers other than Chrome. Could you clarify what you mean by "regular Google"?
  21. CAR 3.388 says "Only materials which are flash-resistant shall be used." Good luck trying to find a test lab that will certify your materials to that standard with no real definition. I think your only option is to prove you are compliant with the current FAR Part 23 requirements.
  22. Don -- What browser and version are you running?
  23. J parts catalog page 26-20-00 has fire extinguisher information. http://mooney.free.fr/Manuels%20M20J/M20J/Mooney%20M20J%20Illustrated%20Parts%20Catalog.pdf
  24. I finally decided I needed a new door seal when I looked over at my wife sleeping with her head against the door and I could see her hair outside the back window.
  25. On my M20D I used to open the vent a little along with the heat. The higher pressure/velocity of the vent air helped the warm air move through the cabin better. The trick is to not open the vent too much and cool the air too much. It also helped a lot when I replaced the door seal and stopped all the warm air from going outside.
