  1. It's a two-way street. When you're selling your plane you get a lot of dreamers and wanna-be's. Imagine that in aviation! LOL. I used a broker when I sold my M20C, and they told me some stories about what they had to deal with. My guess is that after a couple weeks of this individual sellers get fed up with it.
  2. Yes, it’s worth it. I had several repairs and updates done on my Mooney radios and a/p throughout the years. The result was that everything in the panel worked flawlessly when I sold the plane. You can keep what’s in your panel fully functional for many thousands of dollars less than a complete refit. Not to mention avoiding the downtime. Find a shop that has experience with your a/p and that is willing to work you in their schedule. It’s not a diy job unless you know avionics well. If you give us your location you will likely get some shop recs. Once you talk to a shop that’s willing to spend the time to listen, you will find out what you might be in for.
  3. It’s an LLC in Montana with a mailing address in Florida. These filings are often used to conceal actual ownership. It has nothing to do with the corporation based in Texas.
  4. Trust your instinct.
  5. Replying to this troll is like wrestling a pig. You get dirty and the pig likes it.
  6. You shouldn’t rely on a random person on the Internet for advice on such a transaction. Find an attorney with knowledge of your state tax laws to assist you.
  7. Call Don Maxwell Aviation in Longview, Texas to see if they can find one for you.
  8. One strategy to keep costs lower would be to defer the non-airworthy issues to give you time to source less expensive parts and labor (maybe even some of your own under supervision).
  9. When flying in clouds or rain in my C I would put the carb heat on and re-lean the mixture. Set it and forget it until in the clear.
  10. If you find the tubes to insert headrests this is an option worth exploring: https://www.csobeech.com/headrests.html
  11. I have looked up Eclectic. Interesting name. The “middle of nowhere” certainly has its advantages.
  12. Let's see, Gatlinburg in the mountains, close to several major cities, beaches, etc. or ... Pineville, Louisiana. Geez, I wonder why the rent's so cheap there?
  13. Two guesses: induction or exhaust manifold leak, alternator.
  14. There is no way you can economically resurrect that plane. It would be a challenge even if you did all the work yourself. Buy a plane that you can fly today.
  15. Here is a troubleshooting guide. 66' Money M20E Flap Pump Diagram.pdf
  16. The discrepancy list looks like the product of an overzealous inspector, at best.
  17. Our C model had an STEC a/p with autotrim. Flew it for 12 years, and the only time it activated was during ground testing. I would occasionally turn off the AP and check trim, and it was never a large adjustment. Never enough that the servo called for it.
  18. You should consult with whoever does your taxes and ,Ideally, a lawyer who is knowledgeable of the LLC law in the state of formation.
  19. Maxwell in Longview, TX.
  20. You asked for opinions, so here you go. I understand that neither you nor your wife have ever lived in the United States. Moving to another country where you have no history or experience outside of tourism because of a political disagreement, as opposed to be being at risk of persecution, is, IMHO, a big mistake. Just as it would be for an American to move to Canada for the same reason. The two countries, their cultures, laws and norms are very different. You and your wife would be fishes out of water. Come here because you love our country, or you want to make your fortune. Don’t come here because you’re unhappy with an election.
  21. Maxwell can repair it. They recently did mine.
