29-0363 Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 The one other great joy I get out of flying is conducting an Angel Flight. I fimed this on the day I flew to Mount Gambier in South Australia to collect a young lad and his mother for a specialist appointment at the Adelaide Children's Hospital, following his recovery from an almost fatal respiratory infection. http://youtu.be/fFxDqLMYB8E 1 Quote
carusoam Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 Interesting underwing mount. I got that from the credits... Beautiful countryside, as well. I think that's the most real Australia that I have seen. Not the outback or Adelaide. Best regards, -a- Quote
BigTex Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 Very nice video... thanks for sharing! Quote
The201pilot Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 Looks like a great countryside...Nice vid as well..love the quality.. Quote
29-0363 Posted January 9, 2013 Author Report Posted January 9, 2013 Beautiful countryside, as well. I think that's the most real Australia that I have seen. Not the outback or Adelaide. Thanks for the compliments. The scene shortly after take-off is the Mount Lofty Ranges, which is the backdrop for the City of Adelaide, plus there had been rain recently, hence the greenery. There are a lot of forestry, horticultural and viticulture activities in that area. The landscape in the Mount Lofty Ranges (especially the further North you go) is very much like the Napa Valley CA. Cabanaboy Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 would love to see how you mounted the camera, great footage. Quote
29-0363 Posted January 11, 2013 Author Report Posted January 11, 2013 I loaded a picture into my gallery (29-0363) showing my Tachyon camera mount, and I'm in the process of having a GoPro approved by our Australian regulators. This is what it will look like. http://youtu.be/r2RXjmVfxxY. 1 Quote
29-0363 Posted January 11, 2013 Author Report Posted January 11, 2013 . Same setup on the wingtip.. http://youtu.be/dGNvYwKWVHQ 1 Quote
Cabanaboy Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Wow, very creative. I would have never thought of that. Really neat thanks for taking your time to post these. Quote
Cabanaboy Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Will the wireless work on the under wing mount? What do you think about the Gopro Black? Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 wow really nice job. Just for the record I yesterday lost one of my cameras (a GoPro) while flying... I got into some rain and the the wind took the camera... luckily it was over the rainforest... Quote
29-0363 Posted January 12, 2013 Author Report Posted January 12, 2013 In answer to earlier questions and comments: Will the wireless work on the under wing mount? What do you think about the Gopro Black? The WiFi works for both the under wing and wing tip locations. I've used both the GoPro remote and the Android WiFi App. I'm not familiar with the GoPro Black (yet).. And some questions: yesterday lost one of my cameras (a GoPro) while flying How was it mounted? What speed were you at when it separated? Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 The one I lost was mounted with a ram suction mount on the wing close to the wing tip. We where descending at about 170 mph and it started to rain. I guess water got under the suction cup and it flew away... Or may be the camera just did not like my movies... Quote
carusoam Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 Do they print speed limitations for the mount? I have seen some auto racing go pro videos and the strength of the mount is impressive, adding speed + momentum to the equation... Can you safely tether it to a tie down? Banging it around at 150+ knots needs to be considered as well as the sheet metal? Best regards, -a- Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 I really think it was my mistake. I should have been more careful whenand where I mounted the camera. Quote
