Need Encore turbo

Plane in annual. Shop finds turbo needs work. Shop sends turbo to Main Turbo. Main Turbo finds turbo housing is toast and no housings nor turbos seem to be available anywhere. So... Does anybody have one lying around? TCM/Garret M/N TA04111 P/N6459151-1

YGBSM.  I feel bad for you.  I just bought a 252 to upgrade from my F partially to limit the number of unavailable parts… here’s another one?!  Have you called TCM?

Yeah, I feel bad for the OP, as well.  I have a bad feeling this is going to be VERY expensive before this is resolved.

Is the housing a part that can be repaired (like an engine case) by a welder? 
These kind of issues scare me.  There’s got to be lots of these out there on Pipers and such, no?

This got me so spun up I did some initial research… looks like there’s a PMA turbo (by Hartzell) under the Aeroforce name.  I think you need the below part number, and it appears to be in stock (overhauled), but it’s expensive…

Don’t thank me too much… as @LANCECASPER said, it’s ~$10k if your core is bad, but I guess that’s pretty close to a turbo oh these days anyway.

Well that aircraft spruce page shows no stock. So they don't actually have one. However Main Turbo obtained a core from somewhere and the housing was acceptable. So we are back on track.
