PprophetBirdman Posted September 26 Report Posted September 26 Bought from another MS’er on here. Doesn’t work very well with my heavy O up an incline and a 1 inch lip into the hangar. I’ll let it go for 1K plus shipping. Includes battery and charger. Quote
AJ88V Posted September 27 Report Posted September 27 @Rizvon - Have you tried a different battery? Maybe that's all it needs to work for you. Aviation Consumer says this unit was designed for moving 4-5,000 lb aircraft. https://www.aviationconsumer.com/accessories/electric-tow-bars-hand-tool-powered/ Quote
exM20K Posted September 27 Report Posted September 27 That is a very good price for a sidewinder. @AJ88V it’s a great unit, but I have the same issue: steep pitch up to my hangar and sliding door rails that were installed on the slab rather than recessed. I will probably sell mine here sometime in the not too distant future. -dan Quote

All I’m able to do is scuff the nose wheel tire with the friction drive. Even with hangar threshold ramps, it struggles. i just ordered a 40 EZ gas tug 1 Quote
AJ88V Posted September 27 Report Posted September 27 this was high on my list, as my new hangar has almost no slope and no rails to contend with. The hangar at my old place was a nightmare. Sure you'll be able to sell it pretty quickly. Sounds like your gas tug will fill the bill. Good luck! Quote
Pinecone Posted September 27 Report Posted September 27 The make portable ramps for the rails. https://www.sportys.com/hangar-ramps-set-pack-of-3.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=&creative={AdId}&device=c&matchtype=&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwr9m3BhDHARIsANut04ZbFQmxkUdhn4pJyyTh65tR-5Lo5sgkCMbEGPGEz6uNMK_n5raie_8aAhyVEALw_wcB I have a lip from the asphalt taxiway to concrete floor. I need a running start. One day I will buy a set of these ramps. Quote

I MacGyver'd some with some baseboard pieces and scrap lumber fastened to a heavy rubber welcome mat. Better, but still not great. It takes a ton of downforce on the handle to push the plane up a slope and over a lip without texturing the front tire. -dan Quote
